GOP Senator sent envelope containing Ricin An envelope that tested positive for the deadly poison ricin was intercepted Tuesday afternoon at the U.S. Capitol's off-site mail facility in Washington, congressional and law enforcement sources tell CNN. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he was told the letter was addressed to the office of Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Mississippi. After the envelope tested positive in a first routine test, it was retested two more times, each time coming up positive, the law enforcement source said. The package was then sent to a Maryland lab for further testing. Sen. Claire McCaskill told reporters after a briefing for lawmakers that a suspect has already been identified in the incident. By EVAN PEREZ WASHINGTON—U.S. authorities arrested and charged a man who allegedly plotted attacks on the Pentagon with a remote-controlled model airplane packed with explosives, and on the U.S. Capitol with grenades and rifles. Rezwan Ferdaus, a 26-year-old U.S. citizen, was arrested Wednesday after he met with undercover federal agents to inspect what he believed were an arsenal of explosives and firearms to be used in his alleged plot, U.S. prosecutors said. Breaking News: Former First Lady Betty Ford Has Died Former First Lady Betty Ford has passed away.  The news came from the Director of the President Gerald Ford Library.   Betty Ford was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1918,  She was 93.  She was the wife of former President Gerald Ford and the Founder of the Betty Ford Foundation.  She served as First Lady from 1974-77.  She was a passionate supporter for the Equal Rights Amendment and pro-choice for abortion.  She is survived by her children Michael, John Stephen and Susan. Authorities were having difficulty this afternoon as they started clearing thousands of protesters from the Capitol building after two weeks of demonstrations against legislation that would remove collective bargaining for thousands of public employees. While some people tried this afternoon to get out, others blocked exits on both of the doors. Police, just after 4 p.m., appeared confused about what to do and were trying to diffuse the situation. Protesters received notice, through a loudspeaker announcement, that the Capitol building is closed, but none of the hundreds inside moved toward the doors.
