President Obama Memorial Day Weekend Schedule May 29 – May 30 2011

On Sunday, the President will travel to Joplin, Missouri. The President’s departure from the South Lawn and the arrival at Joplin Regional Airport are open press. While in Joplin, the President will visit with those in the community who lost so much during last week's deadly, historic tornadoes.  The President’s visit with the community will be travel pool coverage. The President will see firsthand the devastation caused by the storms and deliver brief remarks at a memorial service held by local clergy and Missouri Governor Jay Nixon for those who lost their lives. The President’s remarks at Missouri Southern University are open press. Later in the afternoon, the President will return to Washington, DC.
