Sanford to beat Colbert-Busch by 6 points
Sanford to beat Colbert-Busch by 6 points in South Carolina's 1st Congressional District special election Public Policy Polling says the 1st congressional race is "too close to call" between former Governor Mark Sanford and Democrat Elizabeth Colbert-Busch. We think Mark Sanford will win by six percentage points +/-3 points. We have revised our Politisite Political Projections down from two weeks ago when we thought Mark Sanford would win by eleven points. It appears that our projections have been inverse to Public Policy Polling as they had Elizabeth Colbert-Busch winning by 6 points in their last poll, but in their latest poll have the race a dead heat. Here is the latest poll from PPP. We think they have underestimated GOP turnout. Sanford has momentum in SC-1 PPP's [...]
What a Girl Wants: Dr. Ben Carson
What a Girl Wants: Dr. Ben Carson By Faith Falise Let it be known-I have had a crush on Dr. Carson for just about 20 years now. I am from a gritty drug-infested suburb outside of Baltimore so I have been privy to seeing Dr. Carson’s mind bending medical feats reported on the local news channel since my early 20’s. And, after hearing him so eloquently speak at a recent charity event in Columbia, South Carolina, I am even more firmly convinced that he deserves my adoration—or at the very least my fawning and reverent homage. But, all this recent hullabaloo over Dr. Carson has me wondering why—why do Dr. Carson’s words now strike such an inspirational chord with so many other Americans as well? Why has my secret intellectual crush gone viral? For [...]
Elizabeth Colbert-Busch’s Mug Shot Surfaces
Elizabeth Colbert arrested in 1988 for contempt of court. This from FITS News The great ‘undiscovered country?’ His Democratic opponent, Elizabeth Colbert-Busch (who to her discredit has gone to some lengths to inhibit said discovery). The Democrat apparently wants voters to elect her, before they find out what she believes,” Breitbart’s Mike Flynn recently wrote. Anyway, as we noted in a post last month Sanford isn’t the only candidate in this race with personal drama. Colbert-Busch was also involved in a messy divorce, one that landed her in jail on contempt of court charges in 1988. Now – just days before she and Sanford face voters in an extraordinarily close race – a mug shot of Colbert-Busch’s 1988 arrest has surfaced. Take a look … Via Mug [...]
Senator Graham: National Security has Deteriorated Under Obama
Graham Responds To President Obama Senator Graham: National Security has Deteriorated Under Obama WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina) today responded to President Obama’s comments on national security: “With all due respect Mr. President, Benghazi and Boston are compelling examples of how our national security systems have deteriorated on your watch. “In Benghazi, multiple requests for increased security were denied and numerous warnings from Ambassador Stevens about the growing threats from al Qaeda were ignored by Washington. For over seven and a half hours during the attack our Americans in the field were abandoned. After the attack, your Administration provided misleading information to the American people. “In Boston, both the FBI [...]

Poll: Colbert Busch leads Sanford by 9 points in SC01
Raleigh, N.C. – PPP's newest poll on the special election in South Carolina finds Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch expanding her lead to 9 points over Mark Sanford at 50/41. Green Party candidate Eugene Platt polls at 3%. Colbert Busch's lead is on the rise for several reasons. She has a 51/35 advantage with independents. She's winning over 19% of Republicans, while losing just 7% of Democrats. And it also seems that after last week's revelations about Sanford that a lot of GOP voters are planning to just stay at home- while the district supported Mitt Romney by 18 points last fall, those planning to turn out for the special election voted for him by only a 5 point spread. Sanford continues to be unpopular in the district with 38% of voters rating him favorably to 56% with a [...]
