Echoes of CPAC – A Politisite Interview with Ken Blackwell

Now that the 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is almost a month past, this might be a good time for Politisite readers to hear some of the more personal perspectives that were offered by some prominent CPAC attendees.  Over the next week or so, I’ll post some of the interviews that were conducted at CPAC over March 14th-16th. Our second Politisite – ”Echoes of CPAC” interview will be with Ken Blackwell, former Ohio Secretary of State and now a Senior Fellow at the Family Research Council.  NOTE:  This interview was conducted just a few days before the Republican National Committee released its "Growth & Opportunity Report."  By Kevin Williams KW:  As far as where we are going from the 2012 Elections, as far as diversity within in the [...]

RNC Statement on Changes to Rules of the Republican Party

RNC Statement on Changes to Rules of the Republican Party

LOS ANGELES, CA—RNC Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement regarding rules of the Republican Party as voted on at the RNC Spring Meeting in Los Angeles, CA: “During the general session at the RNC Spring Meeting, the membership overwhelmingly voted to empower the state parties and grassroots in the selection of delegates,” said Chairman Reince Priebus. “We all agree the grassroots are the center of this party and are vital to winning elections. This change makes clear that the grassroots will pick their delegates and that presidential candidates can neither veto delegates nor unseat delegates. This was a win for both delegates and candidates by unifying our party behind this delegate allocation process.” Rule 16 as passed at convention resolved a [...]

Social Conservatives write letter to RNC, threaten to leave GOP

Social Conservatives write letter to RNC, threaten to leave GOP

Below is a an open letter to Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus from social conservatives who are threatening to leave the GOP if they don't remain pure.  While this writer is a social conservative, we think that the GOP needs all comers from right of center politics.  Yes,  that includes moderates. We totally expect that the Republican party will split soon as will the Democrats.  Hopefully one day we will have a four party system where each has to work together to to get bills passed.  The two party system is failing (as was told to us by our founders) because polarization has paralyzed Washington to not tackle the tough issues because of purity or progressive ideology. America needs a Far left, Moderate left, Moderate Right, Far Right party system in order [...]

GOP must Chart a Path to Win back Urban America

By Kevin Williams The 168 members of the Republican National Committee (RNC) have officially started their winter meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina, where they will elect the party's chairman and co-chairman. Indeed, many Republicans and conservatives around the country are sure to be nervously glued to C-SPAN or their desktop computers over the next two days, hoping for clear indications of the party's future. While many of their fellow Americans may be tuned out or turned off from politics after our past election, those of us who continue to pay close attention to national politics realize that this RNC chairman election will be important to the country's political future. Why? Because while the RNC's winter meeting will be full of politicking for positions, prestige and [...]

Open Letter From a Black Republican Women to the GOP

Open Letter From a Black Republican Women to the GOP

Dear Reince Priebus: I was raised as an agnostic socialist. I became conservative as an adult after I had a unique opportunity to see how the policies I had supported all my life actually worked when applied. Black Republican Women Kira Davis writes a letter to RNC Head. (Media Credit: The Independent Journal) I read the whole Constitution for the first time and I fell in love with this country. I researched and reasoned. I believe our path as a nation has been ordained and blessed by God. The success of American values has drawn freedom-seeking immigrants from across the globe in hopes of finding some measure of personal success. As I always say, America doesn’t owe anyone an opportunity, America IS the opportunity. Lately, we have seen that opportunity being maligned and [...]
