Left Blames Pro-Life Protesters for Gosnell’s House of Horrors
Yeah, Lets blame the pro-life movement for Gosnell's House of Horrors. In a March piece for the Huffington Post, Kate Michelman, the former president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, and Carol E. Tracy, the executive director of the Women's Law Project, wrote that one reason that poor minority women went to Kermit Gosnell's house of horrors was that they were driven there by fear of anti-abortion protestors outside Planned Parenthood facilities in Philadelphia. They cite the story of one woman, Davida Clarke Johnson, who said "the picketers out there, they just scared me half to death," leading her to turn to Gosnell in 2001. "rotesters (ironically) were not an issue" at Gosnell's clinic, Michelman and Tracy write. Amanda Marcotte repeated the charge in Slate Monday. Intrigued by the [...]
The primary difference in Red and Blue, pt. 1- By Joe Keck
This is an email that was sent to a conservative friend of mine, who forwarded it to me. Being who I am, I just couldn't help myself. My email response will be put up tomorrow. A BACK-UP PLAN JUST IN CASE................. Dear Red States: We've decided we're leaving. We intend to form our own country, and we're taking the other Blue States with us. In case you aren't aware, that includes California, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and all the Northeast. We believe this split will be beneficial to the nation, and especially to the people of the new country of New California. To sum up briefly: You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave states. We get stem cell research and the best beaches. We get the Statue of [...]
Planned Parenthood Dramatically Ups Lobbying Layouts
Planned Parenthood’s federal lobbying bill more than tripled in the first three months of the new Congress, as Republicans targeted the group for funding cuts and transformed it into a political cause célébre. For the first quarter of 2011, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America reported spending $400,000 on federal lobbying, up more than 256 percent from the same quarter just one year ago, when it spent $111,000. The majority of Planned Parenthood’s lobbying budget went to in-house work, but it farmed out $60,000 worth of reportable lobbying to the Glover Park Group. “Planned Parenthood lobbies Congress on a wide range of legislation regarding women’s health,” Planned Parenthood Spokesman Tait Sye wrote in an email. “The first 100 days of this Congress [...]
Elena Kagan puts ‘innocent life’ in Quotes? Clues on Abortion stance?
So why did Kagan put Innocent life in quotes? what does this tell us about her? In 1980 following the wins for the Republican party, Kagan wrote, “victories of these anonymous but Moral Majority-backed . . . these avengers of ‘innocent life’ and the B-1 Bomber . . ." By putting the Term 'innocent life" in quotes is more then telling, she is alluding that the unborn are not life at all. sparse? That's the whole idea right? One may need to attach that statement with others she made while working for Clinton when she wanted to go for a compromise deal on partial birth Abortion. While that sounds good... the Right to life folks were against the measure due to the various loopholes in the legislation. Bet those notes never leave the Clinton [...]
All of the Sudden Gays and Abortionists support Laura Bush
Well there is an overnight reversal . The Bush haters club including Gays and Abortionists are now big fans of Former First Lady Laura Bush. Way to go Laura, get those books sold Laura Bush may be married to one George W., but that doesn’t mean she agrees with him on everything—including thorny issues like abortion and gay marriage. “When couples are committed to each other and love each other, they ought to have the same sort of rights that everyone has,” she told Larry King last night while promoting her new book, Spoken From the Heart, although she said she understands her husband's (anti-gay marriage) point of view. On abortion, she says, “I think it’s important [...]
Did Obama Executive Order On Abortion Change Anything? Gibbs Can't explain why the order is good for Both Pro-life and Pro-choice groups.
Seemed like Press Secretary Gibbs was having a go at convincing how an Executive Order can be beneficial to two opposition groups and be constitutional as well. Then he had to explain to the White House Press Corps why President Obama was going to sign the order in private, So all that stuff about Bart Stupak holding out on the health care bill until Barack Obama agreed to sign an executive order prohibiting federal money to go towards abortions? Well it turns out that that language was already in place in our current legislation. So when Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was asked today whether or not the order just reiterated a law that was already in place or whether the president actually acquiesced to a new restriction on federal funding, his answers got kind of…murky. So in [...]
