Romney campaign won’t provide pool reports to non-traveling Media

By Albert N. Milliron Iron Mill News Service and Politisite receive daily pool reports from the White House -  We think that the Romney campaign is making a BIG mistake not providing pool reports to us and better known reporters like Cox reporter Jamie Dupree. Hopefully our posting a portion of this article will encourage Romney’s political operatives to get with the program and provide pool reports to the larger group of News folks who report on the presidential campaign that don’t have reporters on the campaign trail I was pretty excited on Monday morning to read that the Romney campaign had decided to send out “pool” press reports about what the candidate for President was doing. It would give me more Campaign 2012 information to talk about over the next three months on [...]

He reaches the century mark by doing four money-raising events for his re-election campaign during a seven-hour swing through New York City. The visit follows a speech this afternoon here in Nashua, New Hampshire on the energy components of his strategy to boost the economy and create jobs. Having said that, here are our projections for the Florida Primary for January 31, 2012 Mitt Romney – 42% (+13) Newt Gingrich – 29% Rick Santorum – 13% Ron Paul – 10% We do see some downward Trending on Mitt Romney, we attribute this to over kill as he is advertising at rates in excess of seven to one in some areas of Florida.   Gingrich is beginning to Trend upwards and should fall within 4 percentage points of our stated  projection.  We are more confindent that he will end up higher rather that lower. Santorum has [...]

Twitter a Critical Tool in Political Campaigns

Anyone who follows politics on Twitter, has seen in it's use grow from comments by it's users and news services about politics to being used by Campaigns to generate funds for it's campaign, Fact checking, to pro- campaign messages to oppositional attacks on the others. Herman Cain Suspends His Campaign

After much soul searching, Herman Cain announced that he would suspend his campaign as President of the United States.  Cain, until allegations emerged was for some time the front runner of the GOP Presidential candidates.  His 9-9-9 plan had resonated with voters.   The announcement was made at his campaign headquarters in Georgia on a day that was to be the official unveiling. With his wife Gloria by his side, walking hand in hand on the stage, Herman Cain explained why he had chosen to run for President of the United States.  He described his humble beginnings, with his father being a chauffeur and his mother a maid in a segregated America. “I grew up in a world of segregated water fountains,” he said. “My father was a chauffeur and my mother was a maid. Obama campaign has losts of help, Why? unemployed College students have lots of Free time

Barack Obama's approval ratings are down, Republican challengers are beating him in polls and the U.S. economy is in a slump, yet the Democratic president's re-election campaign headquarters is buzzing. There are no signs with "Hope" or "Change" -- Obama's popular slogans in 2008 -- hanging prominently at the office in downtown Chicago. Simple "2012" posters with the president's website cover the walls instead. But youthful enthusiasm abounds at the 50,000-square-foot (4,645-sq-m) nerve center, where some 200 staff members and volunteers are racing ahead of the Republican candidates in raising cash and setting up a national campaign network. The space is nearly twice as big as Obama's 2008 campaign headquarters, which came in around 31,000 square feet, and the team of strategists, [...]

Obama Campaign won’t be Transparent with Fundraising Disclosure at Events

Obama Campaign won’t be Transparent with Fundraising Disclosure at Events

Pres. Obama's re-election campaign won't be disclosing how much money is taken in at the individual fundraising events attended by Pres. Obama. Neither will the Democratic National Committee. An official says it's the same policy by which the Obama Campaign operated in the 2008 election cycle. Fundraising numbers have to be filed with the Federal Election Commission, but often not until weeks later - and the FEC documents don't itemize amounts raised at specific fundraising events. The Obama Campaign is not the first to adopt such a policy, although Pres. Bush's re-election operation in 2004 freely disclosed how much money was taken in at individual events. The Obama Campaign thinks the release of such information might be akin to divulging strategic political information [...]
