Echoes of CPAC – A Politisite Interview with Ken Blackwell

Echoes of CPAC – A Politisite Interview with Ken Blackwell

Now that the 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is almost a month past, this might be a good time for Politisite readers to hear some of the more personal perspectives that were offered by some prominent CPAC attendees.  Over the next week or so, I’ll post some of the interviews that were conducted at CPAC over March 14th-16th. Our second Politisite – ”Echoes of CPAC” interview will be with Ken Blackwell, former Ohio Secretary of State and now a Senior Fellow at the Family Research Council.  NOTE:  This interview was conducted just a few days before the Republican National Committee released its "Growth & Opportunity Report."  By Kevin Williams KW:  As far as where we are going from the 2012 Elections, as far as diversity within in the [...]

Mayor Bloomberg Plans $12 Million Ad Blitz on Gun Control

Mayor Bloomberg Plans $12 Million Ad Blitz on Gun Control

Mayor Bloomberg Plans $12 Million Ad Blitz on Gun Control - Begins in Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Arizona Determined to persuade Congress to act in response to the shooting in Newtown, Conn., Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg on Monday will begin bankrolling a $12 million national advertising campaign that focuses on senators who he believes might be persuaded to support a pending package of federal regulations to curb gun violence. The ads, in a dozen states, will blanket those senators’ districts during an Easter Congressional recess that is to be followed by debate over the legislation. But in a telling sign of how much the white-hot demands for gun control have been tempered by political reality, the commercials make no mention of an assault weapons ban once sought by the [...]

Did Obama Cheat? Lost in all 15 states with Voter ID laws, with Weak laws he had 90% turnout

Did Obama Cheat? Lost in all 15 states with Voter ID laws, with Weak laws he had 90% turnout

There are 15 states with photo ID requirements for voting.  Mr. Obama lost in all of them.  In places with the weakest controls, specifically counties in Florida, Ohio, Colorado, and Pennsylvania, he generally drew turnouts in the 90% or greater range and won by better than 95% of the vote. Losers tend to look for external explanations, and a lot of conservatives looking at numbers like those from Florida's St. Lucie County (where Mr. Obama got 247,713 votes from only 175,554 registered voters) are starting to question the legitimacy of the electoral results as reported.  That's not good news for democracy, because the system works only if we trust it -- and having a majority in the GOP write off a minority who think the results were rigged serves nobody.  Not even Democrats. So [...]

Politisite Political Projections – Electoral College – 2012

Politisite Political Projections – Electoral College – 2012

Politisite Political Projections – Electoral College – 2012 By Albert N. Milliron Methodology: Politisite Political Projections takes in to consideration many factors when utilizing a particular poll for our model. We weigh polls differently based on their previous general election  accuracy. We toss polls that have a Margin of Error (MoE) that exceeds +/-5%. We further take in to consideration the pollsters assumptions of the makeup of the electorate by considering the average PVI for the State polled. Some pollsters continue to use a model that reflects party affiliation of the 2008 election.  According to Gallup the make-up of the electorate, nationally at least, has changed from a D+11 to a nearly even distribution between Democrats and Republicans in 2012.  [...]

Romney beats Obama, handily

Romney beats Obama, handily

Probably one of the greatest minds in County to County, District to District, State to State Politics, Michael Barone,  has put his reputation on the line.  He believes Mitt Romney will beat President Obama Handily.  You can also see our Politisite Political Projections in comparison. Fundamentals usually prevail in American elections. That's bad news for Barack Obama. True, Americans want to think well of their presidents and many think it would be bad if Americans were perceived as rejecting the first black president. But it's also true that most voters oppose Obama's major policies and consider unsatisfactory the very sluggish economic recovery -- Friday's jobs report showed an unemployment uptick. Also, both national and target state polls show that independents, voters who [...]

MSM Ridicules Romney storm relief event

MSM Ridicules Romney storm relief event

Media Not Pleased This one is really hard to believe, even for the most biased so-called "news network" in the nation. MSNBC on Tuesday totally trashed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney for collecting food and supplies at a storm relief rally in Ohio to be sent to victims of Hurricane Sandy (video follows with transcript and commentary):     After introducing his Obama-supporting guests Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed and Lehigh professor James Peterson, host Martin Bashir played a clip of the President speaking at the Red Cross headquarters in Washington Tuesday. When the clip concluded, Bashir said, “Mayor Reed, so the Red Cross knows what it’s doing. Did he, did you detect perhaps a subtle dig there on Mr. Romney who spent today going against the [...]

Shock Poll – Ohio Romney leads 50% to Obama 48%

Shock Poll – Ohio Romney leads 50% to Obama 48%

The race for Ohio’s Electoral College votes remains very close, but now Mitt Romney now has a two-point advantage. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Ohio Voters shows Romney with 50% support to President Obama’s 48%. One percent (1%) likes some other candidate, while another one percent (1%) remains undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.) Ohio remains a Toss-Up in the Rasmussen Reports Electoral College Projections.  Based on the current projections, Romney would have to win Wisconsin if he loses Ohio in order to move into the White House. The candidates have been locked in a very tight battle in Ohio since August. A week ago, Romney and Obama were tied in the Buckeye State with 48% support each. This is the first time Romney has taken [...]
