There is so much silly about Obama's new attack ad on Mitt Romney above -- I'll post about Obama subsidizing overseas manufacturing later -- but the attack on Romney's Swiss bank account is the dumbest part. And, frankly, Obama isn't the type of guy I would expect to make a big deal about Swiss banks. Consider that Obama appointed as IRS Chief Counsel William J. Wilkins, a former lobbyist for the Swiss Bankers Association (despite Obama's claims that he has "excluded lobbyists from policy making jobs"). By Charlie Cook Regular readers of this column know that in analyzing the 2012 presidential race, I have been preoccupied—some would say obsessed—with the state and direction of the U.S. economy. Presidential elections have many moving parts and can turn on many things, but rarely is a single factor more important than the economy when an incumbent is up for reelection. The latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, conducted among 1,000 adults from April 13-17, supports that view. Overall, 49 percent said they approve of the job that President Obama is doing, and 46 percent said they disapprove. Politifact ‘Truth-O-Meter’ not applied to Obama Eating Dog
Karl at Hot Air and others recording their objections at Twittercaught Politifact being two-faced in deciding who gets the “Truth-O-Meter” text. As Karl notes: ”PolitiFact rated the story about the Romneys transporting the family dog on the roof of their car as ‘Mostly True.’ And PolitiFact rated the story about former Arkansas Gov.
