Federal judge rejects Obama suit to stop voter purge in Florida
Great news for those who desire fair and honest elections: the Orlando Sentinel reports that U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle has “rejected a request from the Obama Administration to put an immediate stop to non-citizen voter purge program.” The program in question involved 2600 challenge letters sent out to suspected illegitimate voters, whose registration information did not match up with other databases available to the state. The Obama administration said Monday it is suspending existing agreements with Arizona police over enforcement of federal immigration laws, and said it has issued a directive telling federal authorities to decline many of the calls reporting illegal immigrants that the Homeland Security Department may get from Arizona police. Despite Obama claims Fossil fuel production on federal lands at 9 year low
The Energy Information Administration (EIA) just released its report, Sales of Fossil Fuels Produced on Federal and Indian Lands, FY 2003 Through FY 2011. This report shows that total fossil fuel production on federal lands is falling, natural gas production on federal lands is falling, and oil production on federal land fell in 2011 ending two years of increase. Specifically the new EIA report shows: Fossil fuel (coal, oil, and natural gas) production on Federal and Indian lands is the lowest in the 9 years EIA reports data and is 6 percent less than in fiscal year 2010. Crude oil and lease condensate production on Federal and Indian lands is 13 percent lower than in fiscal year 2010. Ever since the Obama administration in January reiterated that religious employers — against their religious convictions – will have to provide employee insurance that covers contraception, the so-called contraception mandate has been at the forefront of a debate about religious liberty. That was as it should be. Now, though, it’s time to remember that the mandate is not just a violation of religious liberty; it’s also the first concrete evidence that Obamacare violates our liberties in general.
