The Conservative's Guide to the 'Occupy Wall Street' Protests

The Conservative's Guide to the 'Occupy Wall Street' Protests

By Lachlan Markay Protesters set up camp in New York City more than a month ago and have spread to other cities around the country, prompting many Americans to ask: What exactly do they want? The decentralized nature of the protests makes official demands difficult to come by, but the movement has released a number of positions that are fairly representative of the left-wing, anti-capitalist tenor of the protests. We decided to examine one such list of demands, and to give readers a sense of the conservative approach on the varied goals of the movement. To that end, we have gathered together a roundup of reactions from a number of Heritage experts on the demands put forth in one document, created by a collection of New York City protesters calling themselves “the Working Group on the [...]

Occupy Wall Street Protesters have it Half Right

Occupy Wall Street Protesters have it Half Right

If folks will be honest, Some of the folks on Occupy Wall Street agree with the Tea Party on Bailouts,  Corporate Welfare, and the federal Reserve.  The disagreement comes when they state their solutions.  The bongo drums give me a headache as well.  A bit of Fusion Jazz and I am with them. by  John Stossel What's there to say about Occupy Wall Street? The answer isn't so simple. Some complain about taxpayer bailouts of businesses. Good for them. In a true free market, failing firms would go out of business. They couldn't turn to Washington for help. But many protesters say they're against capitalism. Now things get confusing. What do they mean? If by "capitalism" they mean crony capitalism (let's call it crapitalism), a system in which favored business interests are supported [...]

Obama's Protesters: Occupy Wall Street Shocking photos show protester defecating on POLICE CAR

This are the shocking scenes that have led some people to accuse the Occupy Wall Street protesters living rough in New York's financial district of creating unsanitary and filthy conditions.   Exclusive pictures obtained by Mail Online show one demonstrator relieving himself on a police car. Elsewhere we found piles of stinking refuse clogging Zucotti Park, despite the best efforts of many of the protestors to keep the area clean. The shocking images demonstrate the extent to which conditions have deteriorated as demonstrations in downtown Manhattan enter their fourth week. According to eye witnesses, when people ran to tell nearby police about the man defecating on the squad car they were ignored. Standing downwind of the piles of rubbish, bankers walkign past the man did [...]

Capitalism at it's Best – Occupy DC Organizer admits to paying protestors

Capitalism at it's Best – Occupy DC Organizer admits to paying protestors

There is one job creator in Washington DC this week.  It is capitalism at it's best.  Paying protestors, some not even able to speak English (Holding signs written in English),  to picket at the Occupy DC Rally. A liberal organizer told the Daily Caller on Thursday afternoon that he paid some Hispanics to attend “Occupy DC” protests happening in the nation’s capital. TheDC attended the protest event, an expansion of the “Occupy Wall Street” movement that began in New York City. Some aspects of the protest, it turned out, are more Astroturf than grassroots. One group of about ten Hispanic protesters marched behind a Caucasian individual from the DC Tenants Advocacy Coalition, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting rent control in Washington, D.C. Asked why they [...]

Tea Party, Or Progressive Agenda Movement Declaration Document?

Tea Party, Or Progressive Agenda Movement Declaration Document?

By Edmund Jenks - Editor, West Coast, Politisite This weekend, some noise and attention was trying to be made here in Los Angeles. Just as some organized people were trying to make for the last couple of weeks or so in New York. This organized group of people are also attempting to create the look of a grassroots movement - much like the Tea Party Movement evolved - but this creation is, in fact, a creation of people who have a decidedly different '60's radical agenda. One might call this a "put up" job in order to manipulate folks into acts of chaos and agitation ... but I will let the reader decide what to make of this declaration of accusations and indictment. Are these points of declaration from Tea Party politicos who are amazed at how the U. S. Government has grown out [...]

Ray Kelly Tells 60 Minutes the NYPD has the authority to declare War

NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly appeared on 60 Minutes last night to talk about New York City's counterterrorism unit, created after 9/11, which now numbers 35,000 uniformed police officers and 15,000 civilian employees. The interview with Scott Pelley includes a look at the NYPD's $3 billion joint operations center, developed over the last 10 years and including representatives from the military, FBI, FEMA, and state and local first responders. Of particular note was this question from Pelley: "Are you satisfied that you've dealt with threats from aircraft, even light planes, model planes, that kind of thing?" Kelly's response: "It's something that's on our radar screen. In an extreme situation, we have some means to take down a plane..." Pelley: "Do you mean to say the NYPD has the means [...]

Occupy Wall Street "Day of Rage" goal 20,000 Realize a meager 1000

Occupy Wall Street "Day of Rage" goal 20,000 Realize a meager 1000

By Albert N. Milliron, Editor, Iron Mill Interactive Media Occupy Wall Street was touted as a "Day of Rage" for for Americans for Month.  Hundreds of left leaning websites promoted the protest with abandon, but when the heads where counted , the numbers were less than a Bingo game at the Catholic Church nearby. Seems like the protesting left has lost their drive as their candidate for the Presidency has continued the policies of the President they so hated and the economy has gotten worse even though their golden boy said he would have things under control or his Presidency, "would be a one term proposition". Whatever the reason, the left seems unable to get a crowd together to protest the problems of the day.  That is unless it is organized and paid for by union workers. Below we [...]

Begin the Spin: Debbie Wasserman-Schultz on Loss in NY-09, “It’s a very difficult district for Democrats”.

Amazing that the only thing that the Feisty DNC chair could say was that the 9th Congressional District in New York is,  “a very difficult district for Democrats”.   She must be Kidding, Democrats have a 3 to 1 Democrat advantage in the distinct and The Cook Political Report has assigned it a PVI of D+5. There is NO objective block of information that would suggest that the district who hasn't gone GOP since 1923 is a "Difficult District for Democrats".  Conclusion:  Democrat Spin See the Election Results Here White House 2012 puts it this way: Last night’s win of Republican Bob Turner in the special election to replace disgraced Congressman Anthony Weiner was a truly loud message to President Obama and Democrats. And while it does not necessarily mean that President Obama [...]
