The Denver Post has put out a compilation of Nine Electoral College Maps that suggest an Obama win next Tuesday. It would probably have been better journalism to include those who disagree with the conclusion. For example, Michael Barone has come to a different conclusion. New Gallup Poll Should Have Chicago Sweating…Profusely
I’ve now seen three commentaries on the latest Gallup poll, and they’re telling a consistent story: Chigago is, or should be, sweating profusely about these latest polling numbers. And the evidence is they are. The Eye Candy: National Polls. National polls are great and continue to give encouraging news of a Mitt 2-4% lead. The RealClearPolitics average of polls gives Mitt a solid 1% edge. The latest poll in that group, a Rasmussen poll of 1,500 likely voters from October 25 to October 27 (yesterday), gives Mitt a 3% lead. The underlying data show Mitt is winning more Republicans (90%) than Obama is Democrats (85%), but the big news on the national front is that Mitt is leading among independents by 11%. CNN Poll: Romney Leads in Battleground States
President Barack Obama maintains a slight and statistically insignificant edge over Mitt Romney nationally, according to a new CNN/ORC International poll, but Romney leads Obama in critical battleground states. Obama leads Romney nationally by three percentage points, 49 to 46, with 4 percent of those saying they would vote for another candidate or neither candidate, which is inside the poll's margin of error. In the 15 states CNN calls battleground states — Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin — Romney leads Obama, 51 percent to 43 percent. Dead men tell no tales, but as Project Veritas found in New Hampshire, they can still vote. On New Hampshire Primary Day, Project Veritas sent a team of investigators into polling places with a list of deceased voters to see if they would be permitted to vote. We tested more than a dozen polling places, simply walking up and stating the name of the deceased, and in all but one instance -- where an alert poll worker actually knew the recently deceased -- we were handed ballots. While our investigators cast no votes and returned the ballots, there was nothing stopping our team, or anyone else, from illegally influencing the outcome of a presidential primary. Mitt Romney Aces New Hampshire – What Now?
Mitt Romney easily won the New Hampshire Republican Primary with almost 40% of the votes. Ron Paul with nearly 23% of the vote came in second, while Jon Huntsman came in third with 17%. Newt Gingrich came in 4th, Rick Santorum came fifth, both candidates getting about 9% of the vote. Rick Perry garnered just under 1%. Newt Gingrich's attack ads and Rick Perry's allegations of vulture capitalism did little to derail Mitt Romney's front runner status.
