Lee Iacocca endorses Romney

Lee Iacocca endorses Romney

But ‘Osama bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive’ After a lifetime of voting for and supporting Democrats — and even declining appointment to the U.S. Senate from a Democratic governor — Lee Iacocca Thursday endorsed Republican Mitt Romney for president. The blessings of the onetime Chrysler chairman are expected to help Romney in two highly competitive states: Pennsylvania, where the 88-year-old Iacocca was born and raised and is still widely respected, and in Michigan, where Iacocca rose to become a major figure in the auto industry and won international praise for cobbling together the government-backed loans that saved Chrysler in 1980. via Lee Iacocca endorses Romney for president  So what is the reason that the former Chrysler CEO Iacocca endorsed Romney and [...]

President Obama’s Daily Show Appearance – “Not Optimal”

President Obama’s Daily Show Appearance – “Not Optimal”

By: Edmund Jenks - West Coast Editor President Obama paid a call on “The Daily Show” taped for tonight, Thursday, submitting himself to the ritual of acerbic host Jon Stewart’s mix of tough questions and mock serious quips in an effort to reach a wide audience of potential voters less than three weeks before the election. Stewart made Obama laugh several times, but he also pressed Obama on why his administration appeared “confused” in its response to the terror attacks on American diplomatic personnel in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11. The White House first said the attacks were in response to an anti-Muslim Internet video before later calling it a terrorist attack. “We weren’t confused about the fact that four Americans had been killed,” Obama [...]

CNN: Crowley gave Obama 9% more time because he speaks more slowly

CNN: Crowley gave Obama 9% more time because he speaks more slowly

By Albert N. Milliron If any of you wondered why Obama got nearly ten percent more time during Tuesdays Town Hall debate, it was because President Obama speaks slower than Romney and needed more time to respond to questions. You see, Romney got more words in even though he got less time.  We are wondering why there wasn't a word counter instead of a timer for the debate if ones word count was to be a factor. This is a laughable explanation of the reasons behind Candy Crowley's intervention during the debate to cut off Romney while making valid points about the effectiveness of Obama's last four years in office.  But so goes the mainstream media these days. Here is a portion of the CNN internal memo:  On why Obama got more time to speak, it should be noted that Candy and [...]

Lilly Ledbetter? Female White House staff make 18 Percent less

Lilly Ledbetter? Female White House staff make 18 Percent less

In last nights town hall debate between President Obama and Governor Mitt Romney, a question arose about equal pay for woman: QUESTION: In what new ways do you intend to rectify the inequalities in the workplace, specifically regarding females making only 72 percent of what their male counterparts earn? Mitt Romney spoke about how he increased the number of woman on his staff in high end positions (from 30-42%), but Presidential Obama touted the signing into law the Lilly Ledbetter Act which made it a matter of law that woman should receive the same pay for the same job. While that law seems like a milestone in American politics, there is but one problem, Obama's words do not equate with his actions among his own female staff in the White House According to the 2011 annual [...]

No Haymakers in Hofstra

No Haymakers in Hofstra

By Joe Keck Well, Mitt Romney again came out swinging against CNN's Candy Crowley and Barrack Obama in last night's heavyweight match-up. You know it's ironic. One of the guys I was watching the debate with mentioned that Ms. Crowley was doing a fine job as moderator, and I agreed. That is, until she rushed across the ring and caught Obama just as he started to go down with the Libya exchange toward the end. As it turned out, of course, Obama was, uh - not quite forthcoming - with his answer regarding the terrorist attack in Benghazi. And neither was Crowley. But no matter, we're all used to CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, PBS, NY Times, USA Today, and all the other mainstream news organizations being in the corner of any left-wing candidate vigorously massaging their [...]

Polling Report: October 16, 2012

Polling Report: October 16, 2012

by Bob Grundfest With three weeks to go before the election, and with all political eyes on the debate at Hofstra this evening, it's time to take a look at the latest polling and to establish some baselines for the poll-a-rama that will ensue in the coming days. The narrative since the first debate has been the Romney Rebound; the lift he's received in the polls since his performance at the first debate in Denver, and the negative reaction President Obama received after his less spirited effort. Some news outlets are already proclaiming that Romney has momentum and that it's only a matter of time before he overtakes the president in the swing state polls. My take is different. Let's look. The Real Clear Politics Index shows Romney with a 0.4 point lead on Obama in national [...]

Romney, narrows gap with women, leads Obama in the swing states

Romney, narrows gap with women, leads Obama in the swing states

Mitt Romney leads President Obama by four percentage points among likely voters in the nation's top battlegrounds, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds, and he has growing enthusiasm among women to thank. As the presidential campaign heads into its final weeks, the survey of voters in 12 crucial swing states finds female voters much more engaged in the election and increasingly concerned about the deficit and debt issues that favor Romney. The Republican nominee has pulled within one point of the president among women who are likely voters, 48%-49%, and leads by 8 points among men. via Poll: Romney, narrows gap with women, leads Obama in the swing states.
