Media Matters David Brock Paid $850G hush money
Media Matters chief David Brock paid a former domestic partner $850,000 after being threatened with damaging information involving the organization’s donors and the IRS – a deal that Brock later characterized as a blackmail payment, according to legal documents obtained by FoxNews.com. In an acrimonious lawsuit settled at the end of last year, Brock accused William Grey of making repeated threats to expose him to the "scorn or ridicule of his employees, donors and the press in demanding money and property." Brock claimed in legal papers that he sold a Rehoboth Beach, Del., home he once shared with Grey in order to meet Grey’s demands, which he called "blackmail" in the lawsuit. Media Matters accepted $50K grant for ‘fact checking’ religious broadcasts
The liberal Media Matters for America organization once accepted a $50,000 grant to monitor and attack religious news outlets, according to tax returns examined by The Daily Caller. The grant came in 2006 from the ARCA Foundation, a 60-year-old philanthropy that funds Democratic causes. The foundation gave Media Matters the $50,000 “to support a Religious Broadcasting Project to expand the monitoring and fact checking of religious broadcasts,” according to its tax return that year. Becca Freedman, a program associate at the ARCA Foundation, told TheDC by phone that she could not immediately provide any details about the grant because the executive director who worked there in 2006 is no longer employed by the foundation. Glenn Beck finished his first month on his new network that he owns making ruffly ten times his Fox news Salary and has more paid subscribers then the Queen Of Television Oprah Winfrey. If Media Matters would like to turn it's attack machine on us... please do so today! Because Mr. Beck owns the show and the network, he could make substantially more than the $2.5 million salary he got each year at Fox. GBTV is on track to take in more than $20 million in revenue in its debut year, according to a person close to the company. Look, I am past exhausted talking about liberal media bias. It’s real, we all know it, and people who deny it aren’t even fooling themselves. But some things just have to be pointed out. This morning I watched the first 15 minutes of the Today Show. I don’t particularly love or even like the program, but I find it useful to see what the producers think is the big news of the day. And sometimes Chuck Todd is on, and I like him. If I sound defensive about watching the show it’s only because I am. Anyway, the first ten minutes was about Gabby Giffords’ return to the House yesterday. Media Matters violating its Tax exemption by actively participating in partisan political activities, Tell the IRS
When was the last time you saw Media Matters for America do a hit Job on MSNBC? How about left wing politics? No? Well it happens that MMFA is a Tax Exempt organization and has applied for taxpayer dollars as a non-partisan group. Maybe someone should let the IRS know about them. Media Matters for America is organized as a tax exempt 501(c)3 organization. Under IRS guidelines, they must abide by several rules to maintain this status. Specifically, 501(c)3 organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office. Yes it's true! Katie Couric and Glenn Beck changes seem awfully close together. Couric has to be getting Becks 5 pm slot. I mean if you want to lose 2 million viewers you get Couric! That is just some of the crazy stuff that is out there. Today I received three different e-mails all taking credit for Glenn Becks demise from Fox. Media Matters did it all, The Color of Change attacked all 300 advertisers, and even Chris Mathews is taking credit for Becks departure... but wait.. Beck isn't leaving. He is transitioning out of his 5 pm show to do other things with Fox and his Mercury group. But let the left keep doing what they do, showing their own delusional self importance and power.
