Axelrod: White House made ‘mistake’ releasing Draft Immigration Bill
We think Planned Leak By Albert N. Milliron President Obama continues to forget that there is a legislative branch in the United States Government. This is a Republic after all... or is it? Seems the White House (while Obama was in seclusion with serial adulterer Tiger Woods) leaked an immigration bill to the press. Legislation that didn't include one meeting with House Republican's or GOP Senators who want Immigration reform to become a reality. Like this writer has said before, Democrats don't want solutions to their hot button issues. Fixing problems would make the Democratic party less necessary. We don't think that David Axelrod is under any illusion, Obama WANTED that bill out there. He NEEDED that bill out there. Whatever the GOP comes up with outside of [...]

Senate Radio-TV Gallery U.S. Capitol Washington, D.C. Bipartisan Framework for Comprehensive Immigration Reform Introduction We recognize that our immigration system is broken. Rubio Reiterates Support for 2nd Amendment Following President’s Gun Policy Announcement
Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) today issued the following statement reiterating his support for the 2nd Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens, in light of President Obama’s announcement regarding gun policy in America: “As the father of four young children, I was deeply saddened by the murder of innocent kids at Sandy Hook. In the aftermath of this terrible tragedy, I expressed my hope that President Obama and our elected leaders would take a sober look at how we can prevent such heinous murders in the future. Doing so would require addressing the underlying causes of these evil acts, and keeping guns out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill without curtailing the 2nd Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens. “Nothing the President is proposing [...]
Senator Rubio addresses looming Fiscal Cliff, Rejects Obama’s Tax Plan
“I fundamentally reject the idea that the only way to avoid the fiscal cliff is to raise taxes and jeopardize job creation." Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement regarding the looming fiscal cliff after President Obama insisted today that tax increases be part of the solution to avert it: “I fundamentally reject the idea that the only way to avoid the fiscal cliff is to raise taxes and jeopardize job creation. Without a bold plan to bring spending under control and get our economy growing, we will be right back at the edge of this cliff in just a matter of years. I am not interested in short-term political deals. We need a long-term solution. “The bottom line is that we can’t tax, or even cut, our way out of this. The only [...]
Obama’s immigration power grab sparks responses from both sides of the aisle
Via CNN, here’s what a handful of elected leaders had to say about President Obama’s new immigration policy: Rep. Allen West, R-Florida “This is yet another example of executive branch overreach. We have a legislative process that ensures representative governance by the consent of the American people. This action should be crafted into legislation, debated in committee and brought before the House and Senate for vote, with accordance of our Constitutional Republic way. Secretary Napolitano is an unelected administrative bureaucrat who does not have the right to make governing decisions for this country. It is apparent that the goal of the Obama administration is not to govern, but rule by edict. This again is a reflection of the desperation of President Obama and his liberal [...]
Rubio: Democrats Don’t Want Immigration Reform because they would loose the issue
"I think there are some people in the Democratic Party that think that the immigration issue’s more valuable to them unsolved, that it gives them something to talk about, that they can go back to Hispanic communities and make unrealistic promises every two years and win votes," Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) told FOX News' Greta van Susteren. via Rubio: Democrats Don't Want Immigration Reform For Political Reasons | RealClearPolitics.
Marco Rubio working to overturn Obama’s contraception mandate
We’ve reached a new low when a senator has to present a bill to restore religious freedom — but at least we still have a senator who will introduce such legislation in the face of an overt trampling of the right to free exercise of religion. Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio today will introduce “The Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 2012,” a bill that would reverse the Obama administration’s recent confirmation of its decision to force religious employers — in conflict with their religious beliefs — to provide employees with insurance that would cover contraceptives and abortifacients. It’s impossible to overstate just how unjust the Obama administration’s decision in this matter actually is. Catholics and non-Catholics alike recognize it. Bush speechwriter [...]
