"How could this happen?" "Why did he do it?" "What's happening to us as a people?" Those are among the questions buzzing around in the collective mind of the country. Why would James Holmes fire on a theatre full of innocent people? Well, he must have been insane. For someone to kill another human being there has to be some kind of mental imbalance doesn't there? I would submit, no. Holmes may well be insane, I don't know. But one does not necessarily need to be unable to discern reality from fantasy to commit murder. One only has to be a human being. That's what we humans do. We kill each other. Don't get me wrong, I firmly believe that some people need killing.
