Israel launches airstrike on Gaza Strip
Israel launched an air strike on the Palestinian Gaza Strip on Tuesday, the first such attack since an eight-day war in November, Hamas, the Islamist movement that controls the territory, and Israel's military said. "Occupation planes bombarded an open area in northern Gaza, there were no wounded," a statement from the Hamas interior ministry said. An Israeli military spokeswoman confirmed there had been a strike in Gaza, but gave no further details. Israel and Hamas agreed to an Egyptian-mediated truce in November after eight days of fighting in which 170 Palestinians and six Israelis were killed. (Source: Reuters )

Netanyahu apologizes for Gaza flotilla deaths
We expect President Obama to Take credit for the Bibi Apology Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu phoned Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday and apologized over the deaths of nine Turkish citizens during the 2010 Israel Navy raid on the Gaza flotilla. Erdogan accepted the apology during his conversation with Netanyahu, a senior U.S. official said. Ties between Israel and Turkey deteriorated due to the May 2010 raid on the Mavi Marmara vessel, which was on its way from Turkey to the Gaza Strip. The ship was part of a flotilla aimed at breaking through a blockade Israel had placed on the coastal territory.
