DHS releases hundreds of illegals but are 10% under Budget
DHS releases hundreds of illegal immigrants ahead of Sequestration but are 10% under Budget The Department of Homeland Security has started releasing hundreds of illegal immigrants held in local jails in anticipation of automatic budget cuts, in a move one Arizona sheriff called politically motivated -- and dangerous. Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu said Tuesday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement released more than 500 detainees in his county alone over the weekend. A spokesman for Babeu told FoxNews.com that ICE officials have said they plan to release a total of nearly 10,000 illegal immigrants. The numbers, though, are in dispute. ICE officials said that it's unclear how many ultimately might be released and that only 303 have been released from four Arizona facilities [...]
Sen. Bob Menendez Is Becoming A Headache For Democrats
Amidst Growing Scandal, Sen. Bob Menendez Is Becoming A Headache For Democrats WHEN IT COMES TO MENENDEZ, “THE BAD NEWS KEEPS COMING” FOR DEMOCRATS For Senate Democrats, “The Bad News Keeps Coming” In The Developing Menendez Scandal. “The bad news keeps coming: a Senate Ethics probe, allegations involving underage prostitutes, an FBI investigation of a key campaign donor, undisclosed flights on the donor’s private plane, and now, reports linking Menendez to an existing multi-million dollar contract he urged officials to enforce for the disgraced donor. Menendez denies nearly all of it. But it couldn’t come at a worse time for the new chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, who, as the only Hispanic Democrat in the upper chamber, has led the way on his [...]
Big Sis at Homeland Security we won’t help Arizona police – Who cares about Supreme Court
The Obama administration said Monday it is suspending existing agreements with Arizona police over enforcement of federal immigration laws, and said it has issued a directive telling federal authorities to decline many of the calls reporting illegal immigrants that the Homeland Security Department may get from Arizona police. Administration officials, speaking on condition they not be named, told reporters they expect to see an increase in the number of calls they get from Arizona police — but that won’t change President Obama’s decision to limit whom the government actually tries to detain and deport. “We will not be issuing detainers on individuals unless they clearly meet our defined priorities,” one official said in a telephone briefing. The official said that [...]
President Obama’s remarks Immigration enforcement changes June 15, 2012
REMARKS BY THE PRESIDENT ON IMMIGRATION Rose Garden 2:09 P.M. EDT THE PRESIDENT: Good afternoon, everybody. This morning, Secretary Napolitano announced new actions my administration will take to mend our nation’s immigration policy, to make it more fair, more efficient, and more just -- specifically for certain young people sometimes called “Dreamers.” These are young people who study in our schools, they play in our neighborhoods, they’re friends with our kids, they pledge allegiance to our flag. They are Americans in their heart, in their minds, in every single way but one: on paper. They were brought to this country by their parents -- sometimes even as infants -- and often have no idea that they’re undocumented until [...]
DOJ wants to implement DADT for Illegal Immigrants
D.C Don’t Ask – Don’t Tell – Don’t Worry The post 9-11 world dictates that there are very public few places in Washington, D.C. where lawfully abiding residents and commuters are not discretely monitored, politely questioned, or upon entering buildings, physically searched. But while we accept scrutiny in order to enhance public safety, illegal aliens - those who have broken U.S. laws and whose unknown motives may deserve the most scrutiny - enjoy the least, thanks to a longstanding sanctuary policy reinforced this week. Letting the powerful illegal alien lobbies know that he’s looking out for their best interests, Washington, D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray has signed an executive order formalizing the existing “don’t-ask-don’t-tell” policy which prohibits police from [...]
Judge Blocks Parts Of Georgia Immigration Law
ATLANTA -- A federal judge on Monday blocked parts of Georgia's law cracking down on illegal immigration from taking effect until a legal challenge is resolved. Judge Thomas Thrash granted a request to block parts of the law that penalize people who knowingly and willingly transport or harbor illegal immigrants while committing another crime. He also blocked provisions that authorize officers to verify the immigration status of someone who can't provide proper identification. Thrash wrote that under parts of the law, the state is enforcing immigration law that should be left to the federal government. Thrash also dismissed parts of the lawsuit at the state's request. Department of Labor PSA tells Illegals to call if they are not getting Minimum Wage
That's what Ed Morrissey asks about this one that has Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis advising illegals of the number they can call to make sure they are getting their proper wages. Not, apparently, a joke. Says Ed: Does it occur to the White House at all that "undocumented" workers are breaking the law themselves? They shouldn't be exploited, but then again, they shouldn't be here to be exploited, either. At the same time that the Obama administration contemplates a lawsuit against Arizona to stop them from enforcing immigration law, they're working on a program that supports the people breaking that law, all while unemployment continues at a high rate long after their stimulus plans have run aground. Instead of enforcing the law - which is, after all, the raison [...]
Arizona Protesters, "Burn this Racist City" painted on the Streets, media remains silent
Ever get the feeling that MSNBC and CNN refrain from reporting violence or violent speech from protesters who that share their political agenda? Anti-Arizona protesters Spray Painting speech that incites violence by saying, "Burn this City" . Anyone EVER see similar behavior from a Tea Party group? But yet the Mainstream media continues with their accusations of conservatives assembling because they hate a "Black Man" President Obama. Interestingly, many Tea party groups are endorsing Black conservative candidates for office. Maybe it is about the ideology of the President and not that he happens to be Black. Now in Arizona, Protesters are inciting violence, becoming violent because they don't want current laws enforced. What gets me is, last time I was in Mexico, I was [...]
Illegals Urged to Fill out Census for Cash
Stand and be counted - or we can't get government cash. That's the word from Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and New York Secretary of State Lorraine Cortes-Vazquez, who said Monday that it's safe for undocumented immigrants to fill out 2010 U.S. Census forms that will hit city residents' mailboxes this week. "Invisible people do not count in this country," Cortes-Vazquez told reporters at a lower Manhattan news conference. "Invisible people do not have a voice." The city lost out on hundreds of millions of dollars in federal and state funding over the past decade because only 55% of New York City residents mailed in 2000 Census forms, woefully short of the 67% national average. Census figures help determine where government cash goes for hospitals, school services, public housing, [...]
