Dave Heineman notifies President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton that he has approved a route for controversial pipeline that bypasses environmentally sensitive areas. Gov. Rick Snyder said today he has already signed right-to-work legislation into law, soon after the House passed it earlier today. The bills will go into effect 90 days after the Legislature adjourns, which will put the start of the new law around the end of March or early April. Read More

The election that was projected to be too close to call ends in a Landslide Exit polls from CNN are projecting a nail biter in the Wisconsin Recall Election. In fact, both incumbent Governor Scott Walker and challenger Tom Barrett have netted 50 percent of the vote, according to those polls. UPDATE: As of 9:48 PM, CNN has revised their exit polls to show a 52-48 percent lead for Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker. House Ethics committee clears SC Governor Haley of all charges
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Gov. Nikki Haley has been cleared of charges she violated ethics laws while a member of the South Carolina House. The House Ethics Committee voted 5-1 Wednesday to dismiss all charges against the governor, following an investigation of more than a month. The panel voted that there was a reason to look into the allegations. Whoa! I guess there was something to the Walter Dalton speculation after all! North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue (D) is set to announce today that she will not seek reelection in 2012, according to multiple sources familiar with her plans. Perdue, who turned 65 earlier this month, was set for a rematch of her 2008 race with former Charlotte mayor Pat McCrory (R), but she has been plagued by low approval ratings and faced some tough odds this year.
