Seemed like Press Secretary Gibbs was having a go at convincing how an Executive Order can be beneficial to two opposition groups and be constitutional as well. Then he had to explain to the White House Press Corps why President Obama was going to sign the order in private, So all that stuff about Bart Stupak holding out on the health care bill until Barack Obama agreed to sign an executive order prohibiting federal money to go towards abortions? Rep. Bart Stupak just announced a 4 p.m. press conference. We speculate that Rep Bart Stupak will have agreed with the President's solution to use an executive order to fix the Abortion language. By doing so he is taking on a legislative position from the executive branch. One may wonder if we are dealing with Senator Obama, President Obama, or Dictator Obama. Stupak says Executive Order on Abortion works: 7 More to Vote Yes
Congressman Stupak is waiting on an executive order to solve his abortion language issues. Some news services are reporting his is not a yes vote, but a source close to him says until the language is made pubic and he can review item his vote remains a No along with seven others. Bart Stupak has agreed to language in an executive order that would satisfy his block. He had called a press conference at 12:30, but has now canceled it. The seven Democrats left in his block will vote “yes.” Details of what the order will contain are not known. Pelosi rejects Stupak abortion solution
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Saturday rejected an offer to hold a separate vote on abortion provisions in the sweeping health-care legislation, setting the stage for the final talks with the last Democratic holdouts. Pelosi told reporters that she rejected the solution offered by Rep. Bart Stupak (Mich.), the leading antiabortion Democrat who proposed passing separate, strict language that would clarify that no federal funds in the proposed legislation could go toward abortion coverage. After decades of digging into the Church of Scientology, reporters and editors at the St. Petersburg Times are accustomed to being denounced by its leaders. But they find it unsettling that three veteran journalists -- a Pulitzer Prize winner, a former "60 Minutes" producer and the former executive director of Investigative Reporters and Editors -- are taking the church's money to examine the paper's conduct.
