Did a Military Drone nearly cause a mid-air collision in Denver
DENVER - The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a mystery in the sky. A mysterious object flying over Denver nearly caused a mid-air collision Monday evening, 9Wants to Know has learned. As far as investigators know, the mystery object did not show up on radar Monday. Investigators believe this object, whatever it is, could pose a serious safety hazard to planes. Iran claims they shot down American Drone
From our news desk: Iran is claiming that they shot down a Lockheed Martin RQ-170 Sentinel unmanned aircraft over their eastern Border with Afghanistan. Shortly after the news broke. Iran State Run PressTV reported that "Iran will not limit its attack on drones to within their borders". Seems to us interesting commentary. We are wondering if the Drone had even crossed into Iran Airspace or if they shot it down on an Afghan Mission. Update: First thought it was Yemeni forces but later admitted that CIA-led U.S. drone strike killed Awlaki with a Hellfire missile. Yemen's defense ministry has reported that al-Qaeda-linked cleric Anwar al-Awlaki has been killed along with several other fighters. A statement released to the media on Friday said the dual US-Yemeni citizen was hunted down by Yemeni forces but did not elaborate on the circumstances of his death. "The terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki has been killed along with some of his companions," said a statement sent by text message to journalists.
