Team Bachmann circulates email that shows – CBS/NJ limited her questions

The Bachmann Campaign is circulating this email showing that he questions and follow-ups were intentionally limited by CBS and National Journal BIAS! "I think it's only respectful to allow the candidates to be able to speak and not intentionally ahead of time make a decision to limit candidates' opportunity to speak to the American people," the Minnesota congresswoman said after the debate, which was held in South Carolina. "Clearly this was an example of media bias." In the email chain, a CBS employee notified CBS political analyst John Dickerson that Bachmann's spokeswoman, Alice Stewart, had volunteered the candidate for an interview on Dickerson's post-debate webcast. Have the GOP debates become a Reality TV Show?

Have the GOP debates become a Reality TV Show?

On Saturday night, eight Republican candidates will gather in South Carolina for the 10th presidential debate — and much will be riding on the outcome. More than in previous years, the televised presidential debates have exerted outsize influence on the tone and direction of the campaign, with each one seeming to have more influence over the course of the contest than the last one. Gov. Rick Perry of Texas will have another chance to either prove he can recover from historic stumbles — including his nearly minute-long spell of forgetfulness on Wednesday — or cement his reputation as one of the worst presidential debaters. Jon M. Huntsman Jr., a former ambassador to China, could shine since the debate is intended to focus on foreign policy. And Newt Gingrich, the former House [...]

ESPN uses a link to Politisite in their spoof of the SNL Spoof of the numerous GOP Debates If you have missed any of the 10 Republican presidential debates so far, I hope you are pumped for the 13 yet to come. Then the winner goes to the playoff round against Barack Obama. Presidential debates are necessary, but does anyone believe the current multi-candidate multi-event food-fight format generates anything other than sound bites? No enlightenment is emanating from the debates, not even for supporters of the candidates. They're much more like minor league sporting events than Kennedy-Nixon. Beyond the silliness of multiple candidates trying to cut each other off, there's the larger notion that debating success is a proxy for the skills needed to perform in the White House. Debates give [...]
