Obama’s License to Kill, “For God’s Sake, Where are the Democrats?”

Obama’s License to Kill, “For God’s Sake, Where are the Democrats?”

"For God's Sake, Where are the Democrats?" That was what John Cusack tweeted about a week ago in response to Rand Paul's filibuster on the Senate floor questioning a President's 'License to kill.' To his credit, he was arguing against the Obama Administration's refusal to deny that A President has the power to kill American Citizens on American soil without a trial, simply because he 'thinks' they may be 'A threat to National security.' I am appreciative for Mr. Cusack's criticism of the Attorney General, and by proxy, the President, for such a chilling hesitation, a hesitation that took a week to overcome, by the way. It is shocking that a sitting President would flirt with despotism . . . no, 'despotism' is the wrong word. Rather, 'Divine' is more apropos to describe what the [...]

Obama Violates the Constitution Washington - Today the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled the 2012 recess appointments made by President Obama are unconstitutional. Although it is unclear how this ruling will affect the appointment of Richard Cordray to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau or the National Labor Relations Board appointments, the judges do define a recess appointment as “limited to intersession recesses.” via Obama Violates the Constitution | U.S. Congressman Trey Gowdy.   Judiciary Hearing on Recess Appointments via Judiciary Hearing on Recess Appointments - YouTube.

Upon Who’s Head, The Crown?

Upon Who’s Head, The Crown?

by Joe Keck The gun rights/Second Amendment issue is getting tiresome. It shouldn't even be an issue. It should simply be one side trying to do away with certain – as they would maintain – archaic and outdated Founding Protections against tyranny, and the other side, which holds dear those same Protections. Two trenches, two teams, two battalions, each opposing the other. But there's a problem. You see, when one argues for or against something, one must have a base for their position. A solid foundation. Something upon which to anchor their views. With regard to the Second Amendment, that base has always been clear, untainted, full and rich with perspicacity, holding forth the ideals for which our Founding Fathers bled, suffered and died. That's my side. I'm a [...]

Suit Up, And Show Up For Gun Appreciation Day

Suit Up, And Show Up For Gun Appreciation Day

The Washington Post reports that gun supporters behind the event are modeling the program after the tactics of marriage equality opponents, such as Mike Huckabee’s national Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day in response to the backlash the fast-food chain experienced from same-sex marriage advocates. Nearly a dozen organizations, including the Second Amendment Foundation and Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, are encouraging supporters to shop at gun stores and visit shooting ranges in protest over potential crackdowns. White House: Piers Morgan to Stay in the USA

Breaking news during tonight's edition of Piers Morgan Tonight: On the heels of Morgan's fiery interview with Alex Jones, the man who started the petition to deport the CNN host, the White House addressed the petition. Read More When Discussing the Second Amendment, Keep the First in Mind Too By Jay Carney Thank you for participating in We the People to speak out on an issue that matters to you. Let’s not let arguments over the Constitution’s Second Amendment violate the spirit of its First. President Obama believes that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to bear arms. However, the Constitution not only guarantees an individual right to bear arms, but also enshrines the freedom of speech and the freedom of the press — fundamental principles that are [...]

2012 Conservatism Year in Review

2012 Conservatism Year in Review

By now you’ve probably seen the TV specials and glossy magazines reviewing major highlights of the past year. There are still a few days left before we close the books on 2012 (and action appears likely on the fiscal cliff). But in the meantime, let’s recap some of the good news (and bad) that conservatives faced over the past 12 months. Let’s begin with the disappointments: Campaign of Condescension The election results disappointed many conservatives. Even more disappointing than the outcome was the accompanying campaign of condescension. Americans weren’t treated as self-governing citizens. Women were portrayed as birth control pill-popping dependants looking for the next handout. The President insisted that our achievements have nothing to do with our own [...]

Who to thank?

By Joe Keck   In the spirit of our country's upcoming happy Bird day, my usual good, brisk slapping around of the Left will be relaxed for this week's clolumn. But don't worry, you won't find me hugging puppies here. Just a bit of 'collar-grabbing' instead. So here we go. I was watching the local news one afternoon during the holiday season of one past Thanksgiving, and the fluff piece toward the end of the newscast was showing terribly cute kids, second and third graders, telling who, to their immature minds, the Pilgrims were thanking on our first Thanksgiving those few centuries plus ago. It was adorable, and at the same time, disheartening. There were probably five or six of the little darlings, and their answers ranged from, 'the Pilgrims were thanking the [...]

Congressman Ron Paul’s Farewell Address – Full Text – Video

Farewell to Congress - Ron Paul Delivered on the House Floor November 14, 2012 This may well be the last time I speak on the House Floor. At the end of the year I’ll leave Congress after 23 years in office over a 36 year period. My goals in 1976 were the same as they are today: promote peace and prosperity by a strict adherence to the principles of individual liberty. It was my opinion, that the course the U.S. embarked on in the latter part of the 20th Century would bring us a major financial crisis and engulf us in a foreign policy that would overextend us and undermine our national security. To achieve the goals I sought, government would have had to shrink in size and scope, reduce spending, change the monetary system, and reject the unsustainable costs of policing the world [...]
