So what did Williams say? E-mail shows Rahm Emanuel and Blago Traded Favors
President Barack Obama's chief of staff, then a congressman in Illinois, apparently attempted to trade favors with embattled Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich while he was in office, according to newly disclosed e-mails obtained by The Associated Press. Obama's chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, agreed to sign a letter to the Chicago Tribune supporting Blagojevich in the face of a scathing editorial by the newspaper that ridiculed the governor for self-promotion. Within hours, Emanuel's own staff asked for a favor of its own: The release of a delayed $2 million grant to a school in his district. The 2006 discussion with Blagojevich's top aide, Deputy Gov. Bradley Tusk, doesn't appear to cross legal lines, and Emanuel couldn't speed up the distribution of the funds. But it offers a peek [...]
Rahm Emanuel to be thrown under the Bus over Sestak Bribe?
The evasiveness over the Sestak job offer is quite telling to us. Look for blame to be placed in the lap of Rahm Emanuel. We are hearing that someone is going down over this issue and to clear the White House air prior to the elections, he will be replaced. I feel family issues are mounting and he will resign to spend more time at home. But all this is speculation, right? Look at the following posts around the net for clues. We think Rahm Emanuel is behind the bribe. It’s the sort of thing Emanuel does, when he’s not screaming nude at someone in a gang shower, or doodling “Rahm Beiber” in his notebooks in the bulbous empty space inside large, swooping hearts. This is the sort of job-offer-for-quitting-something that happens every day here in Chicago. Chicago went to [...]
RNC chief of staff resigns in wake of Controversy
How many more get thrown under the bus before it is enough? Will Steele make it through this wake? Republican National Committee chief of staff Ken McKay has resigned in the wake of a controversy over an expenditure at a risque California nightclub, RNC communications director Doug Heye said Monday. McKay's resignation comes one week after the Daily Caller Web site reported that the RNC's January expenditure report included nearly $2,000 spent at Voyeur in West Hollywood, a topless nightclub. RNC officials worked to distance Chairman Michael Steele from the controversy -- insisting that not only was he not in attendance but that he had no knowledge of the reimbursement -- and promised changes in the way that people were reimbursed by the committee. McKay's resignation [...]
