Obama the President for everyone except Black people
Obama the President for everyone except Black people by Kevin Johnson As President Barack Obama begins his second term, there is something noticeably different about his new cabinet - the absence of African-American leaders and advisors. The Congressional Black Caucus chair, Rep. Marcia Fudge of Ohio recently sent the president a letter stating, “You have publicly expressed your commitment to retaining diversity within your cabinet. However, the people you have chosen to appoint in this new term have hardly been reflective of this country’s diversity.” When one compares President Obama to his predecessors, the decrease in African-American appointments is astounding. In American presidential history, President William Jefferson Clinton has been, by far, the most [...]
Harry Reid: We don’t have the Right to Arm ourselves Against the Government
Harry Reid: We don't have the right to arm ourselves against the Government By Albert N. Milliron Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) said that he will support the Assault Weapon Ban against what he calls conspiracy theorists, black helicopters and false flags: “I’ll vote for the ban because saving the lives of police officers, young and old, and innocent civilians, young and old, is more important than preventing imagined tyranny,” I believe that as Americans, we have a right to arm ourselves against criminals, but we don’t need the ability to arm ourselves against the army or the police. The United States military is not out to get us. Federal law enforcement, local police departments are not out to get us. These conspiracy theories are dangerous and they should [...]
Echoes of CPAC – A Politisite Interview with Ken Blackwell
Now that the 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) is almost a month past, this might be a good time for Politisite readers to hear some of the more personal perspectives that were offered by some prominent CPAC attendees. Over the next week or so, I’ll post some of the interviews that were conducted at CPAC over March 14th-16th. Our second Politisite – ”Echoes of CPAC” interview will be with Ken Blackwell, former Ohio Secretary of State and now a Senior Fellow at the Family Research Council. NOTE: This interview was conducted just a few days before the Republican National Committee released its "Growth & Opportunity Report." BET Founder: USA ‘Would Never Tolerate White Unemployment at 14 or 15 Percent’
So why do we tolerate (and Re-elect a President) when Black unemployment is at 13.8% Black Entertainment Television (BET) founder Bob Johnson said Tuesday that the nation would “never tolerate white unemployment at 14 or 15 percent” and yet unemployment for the black community has been double that of white Americans for over 50 years. “This country would never tolerate white unemployment at 14 and 15 percent. No one would ever stay in office at 14 or 15 percent unemployment in this nation, but we’ve had that double unemployment for over 50 years,” Johnson said while speaking at the National Press Club about the gap between whites and blacks in America. Black History, The NRA and the Second Amendment
The following article summary was first Published on February 5, 2003 by John Bender in the Ether Zone February is Black History Month. In keeping with the spirit and intent of celebrating Black history, we will examine some Black history that the liberal media and others in the anti-civil rights establishment don’t want remembered. Several people have done a splendid job of documenting the racist history of gun control laws. But there is little being written about the role guns played in securing the victories Blacks achieved in the civil rights movement of the 1960s. This month we will examine some of the cases where Blacks used their Second Amendment right to own and carry guns to advance the cause of securing their other civil rights. In Monroe, North Carolina, in 1958, Mr. [...]
GOP must Chart a Path to Win back Urban America
By Kevin Williams The 168 members of the Republican National Committee (RNC) have officially started their winter meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina, where they will elect the party's chairman and co-chairman. Indeed, many Republicans and conservatives around the country are sure to be nervously glued to C-SPAN or their desktop computers over the next two days, hoping for clear indications of the party's future. While many of their fellow Americans may be tuned out or turned off from politics after our past election, those of us who continue to pay close attention to national politics realize that this RNC chairman election will be important to the country's political future. Why? Because while the RNC's winter meeting will be full of politicking for positions, prestige and [...]
Fear of a Black Republican: A Film Review – Hip Hop Republican
In Fear Of A Black Republican, released through Shamrock Stine Productions LLC, Kevin J. Williams argues that the Republican Party is a weaker party because of its failure to recognize Urban city residents and Blacks from within the Party. Not only do mainstream, White Republicans fail to acknowledge already existing Black Republicans, but they also fail to seriously recruit new party members from amongst the Kevin Williams Director is the Documentary, 'Fear of Black Republican" is also the Entertainment and Politics Editor at Politisite Black and Urban communities. The most recent Presidential Election results reflect these failures of the Republican Party. Fear of A Black Republican tries to address these failures in a fair way by asking, “Does the Republican Party really want [...]
Ben Carson: America’s Doctor
Neurosurgeon who upstaged Obama to star in Hannity Special tonight. Dr. Ben Carson is fast becoming America’s Doctor. And he will make an hour-long house call with Sean Hannity in a Hannity Special on Fox News Friday night. Along with a handful of guests in an on-set audience, of which I will be privileged to be one. Dr. Carson, of course, has been in the news lately for this speech at the National Prayer Breakfast. In which, with a surgeon’s precision, the good doctor deftly dissected both Obamanomics and Obamacare — with President Obama seated two seats away. If you aren’t yet familiar with Dr. Carson you should make the time. Here is a man whose single mother, one of 24 children — you read that right — married at 13, had two children (Ben and his brother [...]
