Iran, The Strait of Hormuz and the Politics of Oil
Iran warned yesterday that it would shut down the Strait of Hormuz if stiffer sanctions were placed against it. The US and its allies believe that Iran is developing a nuclear weapon, a charge that is being denied by Iran. Congress has recently passed a bill in both chambers requiring that sanctions be placed on Iran's Central Bank. Closing down the Strait of Hormuz would stifle world trade and the supply of oil, since 40% of the world's tanker-borne oil passes through it. The European Union has also left the door open to tougher sanctions, which could include an embargo on Iranian oil. Iran is the 5th largest exporter of crude. Arab States have said that they are prepared to ramp up their production to take up the void left by removing Iranian oil from the global [...]
Iran Shows Alleged U.S. Stealth Drone on TV
Our Question is, If Obama can send in a Seal Team to kill an Unarmed Terrorist, How is it that after 1 1/2 weeks no operation was put together to destroy this weapon? What we are hearing from the Obama administration were "Afraid" action would result in War. So a Harvard type of cost benifit analysis was Conducted and giving away top secret technology is better than war. What are the reasons no self destructive mechanisms was implemented in hostile areas? Seems the police have technology that shuts down stolen automobiles, and we don't have similar when million dollar top-secret hardware falls in to the hands of the enemy. So what we have here is a Gun Walking president to limited first amendment rights, buddy buddy with top Wall street fat cats, but will not take action [...]
Iran claims they shot down American Drone
From our news desk: Iran is claiming that they shot down a Lockheed Martin RQ-170 Sentinel unmanned aircraft over their eastern Border with Afghanistan. Shortly after the news broke. Iran State Run PressTV reported that "Iran will not limit its attack on drones to within their borders". Seems to us interesting commentary. We are wondering if the Drone had even crossed into Iran Airspace or if they shot it down on an Afghan Mission. Iran has called out the United States for escalating the rhetoric toward war, but seems that the last two provocative acts have been the unleashing attacks on the British Embassy and today the downing of an American Aircraft that may or may not have been over the Iran Border. Iran officials say they have the Aircraft almost intact. We are [...]
