While Obama runs for the Border, Governor Brewer wants to visit the Supreme Court on Immigration Law
On the heals of President Obama's immigration reform push that brings him to El Paso, Texas on Tuesday, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer is traveling in a different direction. Brewer plans to appeal directly to the Supreme Court over the controversial Immigration law known as SB 1070. Gov. Jan Brewer said she and Attorney General Tom Horne had decided to take the case directly to the nation’s highest court, asking it to examine whether US District Judge Susan Bolton acted correctly when she issued her injunction in Phoenix last summer. A three-judge panel of the Ninth US Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the injunction on April 11. (Reuters) – A U.S. appeals court upheld a preliminary injunction agai nst parts of Arizona’s controversial immigration law in a ruling released on Monday. They have also thrown bottles at police, painted swastikas, rioted and pretended they were aiming guns at police. This story has gotten very little play in the mainstream media. As you can see from the above screen shot, taken today, of a Google search for the term "immigrant supporters riot in Arizona," this story is only being reported by conservative blogs. Republican candidate Nathan Deal said today that he would as governor support legislation that mirrors Arizona's new immigration policies.
