Anthony Weiner used more than $13,000 in campaign funds to hire private investigators to probe the so-called “hacking” of his Twitter account — despite later taking responsibility for the leaked photos that led to his resignation from Congress. Weiner paid T&M Protective Services of Manhattan $13,290 for “legal services” in the fourth quarter of 2011, Federal Election Commission financial disclosures filed Tuesday show. After all the Media attention to the Last New York Congressional election on the implications of the race and what it meant to the 2012 election was widespread and exaggerated. From our position, we see the last and this election as nothing more than an unhappy electorate replacing a Congressman with the opposing party as a message that Americans are tired of amoral and lazy politicians. While Congressman Weiner was anything but lazy, his cocky attitude as a servant of the people is not being tolerated anymore. Republican Turner poised for big upset in New York 09
Republican Bob Turner is poised to pull a huge upset in the race to replace Anthony Weiner as the Congressman from New York's 9th Congressional District. He leads Democrat David Weprin 47-41 with Socialist Workers candidate Christopher Hoeppner at 4% and 7% of voters remaining undecided. Turner's winning in a heavily Democratic district for two reasons: a huge lead with independents and a large amount of crossover support. He's ahead by 32 points at 58-26 with voters unaffiliated with either major party. And he's winning 29% of the Democratic vote, holding Weprin under 60% with voters of his own party, while losing just 10% of Republican partisans.
