Calls it 'arbitrary and capricious' A state judge today put a cork in City Hall's plans to ban Big Apple restaurants and other venues from selling large sugary drinks -- a bubble-bursting defeat for Mayor Bloomberg, who has made public health a cornerstone of his tenure. Before the stunning ruling by New York Supreme Court Judge Milton Tingling, restaurants, movie theaters, sports venues, convenience stores and other places regulated by the city's health department would have been prohibited -- starting tomorrow -- from selling sugary drinks of more than 16 ounces. People who work in Right-to-Work states Richer than Workers in Union States
Employees in right-to-work states can buy a lot more stuff with their money than their counterparts in union shop states, according to a new study from a Michigan economic think-tank. Apparently, the cost of living in right-to-work states is so much lower than in the union shop states that right-to-work employees have higher purchasing power. “For example, Texas per-capita income was $37,098 but would have a purchasing power of $49,700 in the state of New York in 2007,” according to the Mackinac Center for Public Policy. “New York’s per-capita income was $47,852.” Read More Right-to-Work States Have Higher Incomes A constant claim by opponents of right-to-work, whether it be from the AFL-CIO, state Democratic legislators or the president, is that income is [...]
Less than a “Deal”
Three days ago as 2013 raced up upon us, the infamous ‘Fiscal Cliff’ was brought to a halt by the passing of a less than evenly negotiated deal. After all, Obama and Senate Democrats barely budged on their tax increases for households making more than 250,000 dollars and failed to cut the deficit as Obama promised the American people. The fact is is that this deal is so tangled in its own cobwebs that it actually adds four trillion dollars to the deficit. It seems very ironic that to avoid a dramatic economic downturn, President Obama actually adds to the deficit hence prolonging full economic recovery. Before the deal was passed, polls showed that the majority of Americans actually held more faith in Democrats rather than Republicans to bring a good deal to the table to prevent [...]

White House NOW says tax cuts stimulate economy – Threaten Christmas Bust
The White House pre-blaming Republicans for Slow Christmas season they don't follow the Obama Plan Disagreeing with Obama could ruin Christmas Any Republican refusal to accept President Barack Obama’s fiscal plan may ruin Christmas for the nation’s retailers, the White House claimed in a report released Monday morning. “The National Retail Federation is forecasting that holiday sales will grow 4.1 percent this year … if Congress does not act on the President’s plan to extend tax cuts for the middle-class, it will be risking one of the key contributors to growth and jobs in our economy at the most important time of the year for retail stores,” says the report, which was prepared by the Obama White House’s National Economic Council and the president’s Council of [...]
Republicans stand firm on not raising Tax rates
Congressional leaders took a hard line on taxes ahead of a meeting Friday at the White House, with rank-and-file Republicans expressing opposition to a “fiscal cliff” deal that would bring in more revenue to the government. House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) has said Republicans could accept new revenues, but not tax-rate hikes, as part of a broad deficit deal, but President Obama and Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said it was unlikely that eliminating loopholes and capping deductions could raise enough revenue to gain their support. Schumer, the third-ranking Senate Democrat, said Congress could not raise the approximately $1.5 to $1.6 trillion in revenue the president wants solely by scaling back deductions and loopholes, unless it violates Obama’s pledge not to increase the [...]

Government Sanctioned Recession in America
Government Sanctioned Recession in America By Doc Vega From the very beginning of 2009 when President Obama took office and signed the infamous 787 billion dollar bail out, America began the perilous journey down the path of economic decline. Unprecedented moves by the oval office chief executive caused a series of ripple effect policies that changed American government’s role in its stewardship over the nation’s commerce and law making. Nationalizing 2/3 of US auto industry Bailing out 2 major car manufacturers, literally making the US government a partner in the private enterprise of General Motors and Chrysler effectively removed the incentive and direction of these 2 corporate giants to make a profit based on sound business practices when President Obama was actually bailing [...]
