Intrusion of Privacy? That Depends

Celebrity starlet, Jennifer Lawrence, had someone hack into her private photos and post them on the net. As it happens, they were nude photos of her, and our all-caring and compassionate Government is incensed at the audacity of the egregious sin of someone violating the privacy of an American citizen and intruding into their private lives.

Jennifer Lawrence nude photos are more important to the government than your data

Jennifer Lawrence nude photos are more important to the government than your data

Well, that is, the egregious sin of someone-ELSE doing it.

It’s the, “Big government is our friend” disease, and both President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner are afflicted with it.

Obama and Boehner, have given lip-service to the NSA’s program of spying on innocent, law-abiding citizens, but neither will do anything to stop it. Boehner could. All he has to do is use the Power of the Purse and cut off funding for the NSA to invade the people’s private lives. But he wont do that. And Obama is an outright despot, so of course, he won’t stop it. All yhou get from both of them is more babble about rights, protections, safety, same ol’ same ol’.

One such placating speech came from the President came back in January when he spoke of ‘fixing’ the problem of NSA spying,

The reforms I’m proposing today should give the American people greater confidence that their rights are being protected, even as our intelligence and law enforcement agencies maintain the tools they need to keep us safe.

After the speech, ACLU director, Anthony Romero said,

The president should end – not mend – the government;’s collection and retention of all law-abiding Americans’ data. When the government collects and store every American’s phone call data, it is engaging in a textbook example of an ‘unreasonable search’ that violates the constitution.

Apparently, what poor Mr. Romero doesn’t realize is that what Obama is doing is totally different from what those hackers did to Jennifer Lawrence. I mean, after all, those hackers weren’t the kind and loving Government, they weren’t the Federal higher-ups that care, really care about people. They were just citizens, and we all know simple citizens don’t have the moral restraint to, say, carry a concealed weapon without going crazy and shooting their brother-in-law. The citizenry can’t be trusted to invade someone’s computer and not use the information for ill. Only the Federal Government has the ethical muscle to, as Obama says, “. . . maintain the tools they need to keep us safe.”

You see, Mr. & Ms. American, it’s only Eric Holder, Barack Obama, John Boehner, Dianne Feinstein, Harry Reid, and others like them that can be trusted with your private information, only they are capable of peering into your personal data without using it to . . . oh, I don’t know . . . round you up and put you into a ‘camp’ for the good of the country.

Come on, let’s be honest here. If the American people were allowed to carry a gun, own a business and operate it as they see fit, build a room addition onto their house without an inspection by someone who has never done a lick of construction work in their lives, or anything else without the Government dutifully watching over and restricting such activity, then just imagine what tempestuous havoc would arise from wild and dangerous liberties as those!

When the Feds dig into someone’s private lives, their cell phone records, their computer files, just remember, it’s the official Government Agencies doing this. If it were just people doing it, then whoa baby, hit ’em with all we got. We know how untrustworthy mere people are! Not like the ever-pure and crystalline holy and blameless Federal Agencies of these here US of A. It’s for your own good, and best for all concerned. Really.

So when the Government violates the privacy of it’s citizenry, just be quiet, mind your own business, and know that Obama and Boehner and their band of white-hats will never, I mean never, EVER, do anything that will harm the people.

And if it seems like they are, then it’s just those maniacal Tea-Party wackos, trying to disrupt the GOP’s efforts to help the American People.

Or it’s the anti-Obama Republican machine, harping on the President because he’s black. You know, kind of like that crazy Conservative right-wing organization, the ACLU.

Go to sleep, children, we’ve got everything under control.
