Who Owns America, The People or the BLM?

Cliven Bundy, has a ranch in Nevada. He has, ‘Grazing Rights’ there running cattle, as his family has done for more than a hundred years, until now. The Bundy case begs the question of “who owns America, the people or the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).

The Government’s Bureau of Land Management claims he owes them unpaid fees totaling around $1.1 million, taking his cattle and closing him down.

Bundy feels different, and last heard, the BLM backed off due to, “our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public”, giving the Bundy’s a victory . . . for now. The BLM vows to pursue further action.

Who’s land is this? I don’t mean just Nevada, New York, Idaho, or any other state. I mean all of it. Is the soil that runs between Canada and Mexico, California and Maine, along with Alaska and Hawaii, the property of Harry Reid, Mitch McConnell, and Barack Obama? Are uniformed agents with guns and Government patches on their shoulders the deed holders of this land?

Or does it belong to The People?

Lest you think I’m an advocate of limitless freedom, pushing for anyone to do anything anytime, I’m not. I don’t want someone falsely yelling fire in a crowded theatre, nor do I want insurrection and the violation of law. But are unconstitutional laws to be simply “followed” as a good subject should? Are we to ‘abide’ by a law just because Washington wrote it?

1939 Germany thought so. Countless Jews and Christians, Poles and Gypsies filled government-dug mass graves with that thinking. If this country hadn’t abandoned such a view, 19th century dark-skinned Americans would still be in chains and their descendants wouldn’t be able to attend certain schools.

A Conservative friend once said, “Well, you know, our Constitution didn’t protect blacks from slavery, so it’s not the great document you’re making it out to be.”

“Not so,” I responded, “the fully authoritative and binding sister document, the Declaration of Independence, did indeed protect blacks from slavery.”

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

It took a racist Supreme Court in the Dred Scott case to twist and pervert All men are created equal to mean some men are created lessor, depending on the degree of melanin they have. 

Black robes and gavels don’t protect us from tyranny, The Founding Documents do.

Regarding Federal land ownership, Article 1, Section 8, Clause 17 of the Constitution, says the Government can,

 . . . exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of Particular States, and the Acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings;—

Where’s the desert tortoise in that?

Whether Mr. Bundy is right or wrong, when we find ourselves with a Government designating “Free speech zones” and letting loose an arsenal of armed agents on an American citizen, it’s time to define what America is and who its owners are.

The Government did this to Randy Weaver in the Ruby Ridge fiasco, who according to an appellate court, “Broke no laws”. Still, he lost his family to Federal bullets. Government agents shot his friend, his young son, and his wife, she while standing in their home doorway holding her baby in her arms.

They all died. The agents went home.

Government is the single most dangerous body the world has ever known, the bloodiest agent of murder in history, barring none! No other entity is responsible for taking the lives of innocent people than that of organized government.

Ours is no exception.

The Southern Democrat Government of this country cost the lives of over 600,000 Americans for its perversion of justice leading to the Civil War.

Dozens were killed by our Government in the the Clinton Administration’s Waco attack, Randy Weaver’s family at Ruby Ridge, internment camps for Japanese Americans in WWII, CIA experiments with LSD in the 60’s, countless slaves in the South before Abolition, and who knows how many others that have gone unreported?

So, as you sit perusing the pages of your favorite news outlet, electronic or vellum, give some thought to the owners of this, By The People, For The People and Of The People country. Think about who chooses what rights you will be allowed to keep and for how long . . . and who has the right to take them away!

Whether you are a resident of Nevada with grazing land, an African American in Alabama with a section at the back of the bus the Government has reserved just for you, or a Jew in striped pajamas with a number on your arm, remember that all of those federally funded programs came to you, courtesy of an all-caring and lawful government.

Wake up, America. You may be next on the list!
