Boston firefighters and first-responders are rushing to a reported explosion and fire at a multi-family home in Dorchester, officials and a witness reports.
An eyewitness on Hansborough Street told the Herald she saw a home on her street “burst into flames.” She said police and fire officials are instructing neighbors to evacaute the area as a precaution.
A Herald photographer on the scene reports the three-story home is still standing, but it has been ravaged by fire and firefighters have evacuated the building and the area.
Boston fire reports the blaze is at 27 Hansborough St. and some “type of explosion” caused the collapse of a two-and-a-half story house. The fire is now at three alarms and heavy fire was showing upon arrival.
