In an article on Mail on Line, the former senator slams Obama for lacking the courage to save Social Security. He slams both Obama and the Democratic party for their lies in order to sell the Affordable Care Act and the lie that everyone can get affordable high quality health care.
Kerrey says that the only reason Obama was reelected in 2012 is because he sucked less than the GOP candidate Governor Mitt Romney. He also says that Obama lacks the courage to bring Democrats and Republicans together to save entitlement programs from bankruptcy. If he wanted to do it it, he could have, he said.
President Obama, who enjoyed a Democratic dominated Congress in 2009, pushed ObamaCare through without a single GOP vote. This partisan legislation takes over one sixth of the U.S. economy. It is a government program, outsourced to insurance companies. Even some Republicans now say that the country would have been better off with a single payer system.
The law was sold with the now infamous lie, “If you like your insurance plan, you can keep it. Period,” and “If you like your doctor, you can keep him.” Kerry says that Obama and Democrats told that lie, even though they had to know it was far from the truth.
And Obama, he said Wednesday in his Manhattan office, knew full well he was lying when he promised that the Affordable Care Act would allow Americans to keep insurance plans they liked.
‘He had to know he was misleading the audience,’ Kerrey said quietly, recalling the newly minted president’s countless promises as Congress and the public debated his signature health insurance overhaul. Source: MailOneLine
With the economy faltering in early 2009, President Obama and Democrats spent a year focusing on reforming health care. The economy didn’t bounce back then, nor has it bounced back yet.
During the past five years President Obama, along with his king pins, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, have ignored the Republican House, failed to negotiate rather concentrating on issues that have don’t deal with unemployment or the economy. Rhetoric and campaign like speeches are the president’s mantra. In his list of priorities were gun control, immigration reform and lately income equality. Just yesterday the White House put out a mass distribution e-mail telling Americans that the country deserves a raise.
While a majority of Americans consider jobs and the economy as the top priorities, Obama continues to tackle misguided priorities. He has a compliant main stream media to support him.
The Democrats may think that this diversion may save them during the mid term elections, but unfortunate for them, healthcare affects everyone. President Obama should really start tackling the priorities of the country and quit playing politics.
