Politico44 the ‘Living Diary of the Obama Presidency’ Dead

Our competitor, Politico announced that is has decided to close down the Politico 44 Blog.  Politico44 has been touted as, ‘The Living Diary of the Obama Presidency’.

The site said that after five years the blog is to be shut down and all White House coverage will be viewed directly through the Politico homepage.

Politico called the Blog,

The most up-to-the-minute destination for news about President Obama and his administration. Covering every news item and White House event in minute detail, POLITICO’s reporters give readers a firsthand look at high-stakes presidential decisions on health care, energy, the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq – and countless other political battles.

We are wondering, why would any site dump a blog directed at a presidency after only five years of an eight year term?  Is Politico signalling that the Obama presidency is dead or are they jumping off the Obama love cruise as others in the media have done?

Seems the Twitter is shutting down as well:
