The case involving Democrat operatives (who have ties to the White House and Alison Lundergan Grimes) who illegally recorded Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and leaked the tape to Mother Jones is now before the Justice Department.
But, as Politico reports this morning, “Justice Department prosecutors in Washington are now part of a high-profile criminal investigation into the secret taping at Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s campaign headquarters in Louisville… “
Here’s where things get interesting:
In other words, apparently the Obama Administration and Eric Holder have granted a liberal Democratic Party activist who has admitted he secretly recorded Leader McConnell (a violation of federal criminal eavesdropping law), a status they refused to afford either Fox News’ James Rosen or the Associated Press.
Appearances are important, and this sure makes it look like it’s easier to get journalist protections from the Obama/Holder DOJ if the reporting is beneficial for the Democratic Party,” said NRSC Press Secretary Brook Hougesen. “The Obama Administration has been entrenched in one scandal after another, meanwhile liberals like Alison Lundergan Grimes rush to their defense, wildly accusing leaders of ‘obstructing’ the Obama agenda, but in reality are working to protect their constituents from harmful policies that raise healthcare costs for women, hurt workers’ ability to find and keep a well-paying job, and leave our children drowning in debt. Kentuckians know in their heart that liberals in Washington will do anything to attack Mitch McConnell because he is a remarkably effective Senator.”
