FLOTUS freaks out at fundraiser, White House sanitizes transcript

Obama threatens to leave fundraiser after a lesbian protester heckles her speech, and the White House sanitizes transcript

FLOTUSFirst lady Michelle Obama’s speech at a Washington D.C. political fundraiser was interrupted by a lesbian protester on Tuesday night, and she threatened to leave the event if the gay rights activist wasn’t forced to leave. But the official White House transcript doesn’t indicate anything about the heckler or Mrs Obama’s audible reaction

via  Mail Online.

But even though the first ladies remarks were widely reported by the White House Press Corps, the White House sanitized the protesters remarks and deleted Obama’s response.

Seems the Obama White House is far from open and transparent, in that, it deleted comments that could reflect negatively on the First Lady

REMARKS BY THE FIRST LADY AT A DNC EVENT

So here’s the thing — we cannot wait for the next presidential election to get fired up and ready to go.  We cannot wait.  Right now, today, we have an obligation to stand up for those kids.  And I don’t care what you believe in, we don’t –

AUDIENCE MEMBER:  (Inaudible.)

MRS. OBAMA:  Wait, wait, wait.  One of the things –

AUDIENCE MEMBER:  (Inaudible.)

MRS. OBAMA:  One of the things that I don’t do well is this.  (Applause.)  Do you understand?  (Applause.)  One of the things — now –

(Inaudible audience interruption.)

MRS. OBAMA:  So let me make the point that I was making before:  We are here for our kids.  (Applause.)  So we must recapture that passion, that same urgency and energy that we felt back in 2008 and 2012.  Understand this.  This is what I want you all to understand, this is not about us — no one back here.  It’s not about you or you, or your issue or your thing.  This is about our children.  (Applause.)

Here is what the Protester and the First Lady said based on Pool reports

Most notable part of the event was an interruption from a protester about 12 minutes into the 20-minute speech. A pro-LGBT rights individual standing at the front began shouting for an executive order on gay rights. (Pool did not hear exactly what.)

“One of the things I don’t do well is this,” replied FLOTUS to loud applause. She left the lectern and moved over to the protester, saying they could “listen to me or you can take the mic, but I’m leaving. You all decide. You have one choice.”

Crowd started shouting that they wanted FLOTUS to stay.

“You need to go!” said one woman near the protester.

The protester was then escorted out, shouting “…lesbian looking for federal equality before I die.” (First part of the quote was inaudible.) Pool could not get their name before they were taken out.

“So let me make the point that I was making before,” continued FLOTUS. “We are here for our kids. So we must recapture that passion. That same urgency and energy that we felt back in 2008, 2012. Understand this — this is what I want you all to understand. This is not about us. No one back here. It’s not about you or you or your issue or your thing. This is about our children.”

Another report had this -

“One of the things I don’t do well is this,” the first lady said before walking down from the lectern and approaching the protester, according to a pool reporter covering the event.

Obama told the woman that people gathered in the backyard tent could “listen to me or you can take the mic, but I’m leaving,” before telling the crowd, “You all decide. You have one choice.”

So the bottom line is this, the White House is on record altering what it submits for public consumption.  Not a true accurate representation of the facts. I wonder if this is their practice in other things.
