Maybe Obama needs Mitt Romney’s Binders full of Women?
The White House’s Flickr account recently released a photo of President Barack Obama and his top advisers. The complete absence of women in the image is another reminder that females are underrepresented in Obama’s staff.
Additionally, the president still pays his female employees significantly less than their male counterparts.
Obama’s White House lacks Diversity
As President Obama moves to revamp his senior White House staff in the weeks leading up to Inauguration Day, he may want to consider adding something distinctly lacking from the highest echelons of the West Wing: Diversity.
Incredibly, nearly all the most senior advisors to the nation’s first black president – whose appeal to minorities and women won him reelection – are white males. Democrats made much during the campaign of an alleged GOP “war on women.” But Obama’s own battalions include relatively few of the distaff variety.

Even Progressive CurrentTV noticed – 9 of 10 Top WH Advisors Are White Men
Of what are arguably the ten top most important White House advisers, only one – Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett – is a woman. Jarrett is also African American. But the other nine are each white men: Vice President Joe Biden; Senior Advisor David Plouffe; Chief of Staff Jack Lew; National Security Advisor Tom Donilon; Counselor to the President Pete Rouse; National Economic Council Director Gene Sperling; Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer; Acting OMB Director Jeffrey Zients; and Press Secretary Jay Carney.”
Maybe Obama thinks that since he is Half-black he meets the diversity quota or maybe Democrats are just hypocrites - Barack Obama’s oh-so-diverse ‘Senior Advisors.’
I know that it may be somewhat surreal that somebody from the party that aspires to be truly color-blind is noting that the folks from the party that makes a fetish out of ‘diversity’ is in fact kind of top-heavy with white guys, but come on. This is just embarrassing. The Democrats can’t find five, six women with sufficient knowledge of our current fiscal situation to advise the President? – Or, worse, did they, and the President just can’t find some way to work with them? After all, as both Instapundit and the Washington Free Beacon note, this too-candid shot of the President’s ‘senior advisors’ is perfectly compatible with an organizational atmosphere where women are hired less often, and paid less money.
