After a convincing win in South Carolina, Newt Gingrich is also surging into a lead in Florida. While there is still over a week to go until the Florida primary, Newt Gingrich has taking an eight point lead over Mitt Romney, according to an Insider Advantage poll conducted on Sunday.
During the debates prior to the South Carolina Primary, Newt Gingrich had strong performances. His attack on John King after the question regarding his ex wife Marianne, his polls surges and he convincingly won the primary. Mitt Romney’s reluctance to answer the questions on the release of his tax returns and his obvious unease to discuss his wealth, seems to have moved the advantage to Newt
NBC hosts a debate tonight at 9 pm ET from the University of South Florida. The debate will be broadcast live on the NBC TV Network. The Hispanic Leadership Network and CNN will co-sponsor a second debate on January 26th ahead of Florida’s Primary on January 31st. The question remains if Newt Gingrich can build on this surge in Florida. A week seems like an eternity.
The InsiderAdvantage poll was the first major poll last week to show the significant surge for Gingrich in South Carolina.
