Obama: The Very Core of what This Country Stands For is on the Line

Obama can’t run on the economy,  so he resorts to class warfare.  At yet another fundraiser at the Capital Hilton, at $100 minimum contribution, with 700 people in attendance, Obama argued that he brought about “The Change” he promised by taking killing Osama Bin Laden and ending the war in Iraq.

“And change is keeping one of the first promises I made in 2008 — ending the war in Iraq and bringing our troops home.  (Applause.)  The war is over and our troops are home.  And instead, we refocused our efforts on the terrorists who actually attacked us on 9/11.  And thanks to our brave men and women in uniform, al Qaeda is weaker than it’s ever been, and Osama bin Laden will never again walk the face of this Earth.  That’s what change is.”

In the same speech Obama said that the very core of what the United States stands for is on the line.   He challenged attendees to listen to the Republican debates.

“The very core of what this country stands for is on the line — the basic promise that no matter what you look like, no matter where you come from, this is a place where you could make it if you try. The notion that we’re all in this together, that we look out for one another — that’s at stake in this election. Don’t take my word for it.  Watch some of these debates that have been going on up in New Hampshire.”

The Change the President should have been talking about, is the extra $4 Trillion in debt.  With a debt that has now surpassed $15 Trillion, the White House will be asking to raise the debt ceiling by another $1.2 Trillion.  After spending more than $750 Billion on shovel ready stimulus, which Obama promised would keep the unemployment rate below 8%, as Obama approaches the end of his first term is well above 8%.  There are 3 Million more unemployed than there were when Obama took office. Under Obama’s watch, the country barely missed defaulting on its debt and had its credit rating downgraded.

The capture of Bin Laden was a culmination of years of intelligence gathering.  Much of it was possible because of Bush policies that Obama adopted.   While Obama made the final decision, Navy Seal Team did the exemplary job with the help of good intelligence.   No need to pad the back either over Iraq yet.   Military commanders wanted a residual force in Iraq of up to 40,000 troops, instead there are none, which some believe puts Americans in Iraq at risk.

Iran is openly mocking and thumbing their nose at the U.S. and is threatening to block the Strait of Hormuz, a strait where one third of the oil flows.

Obama campaigned for several month in 2011 with his “Jobs Act”, which neither party supported.  His plan was creating more government jobs and did very little to stimulate the

The presidential candidate that promised hope and change and was going to change the way Washington operated, has introduced the worst of Chicago politics.  He has invoked class warfare, instead of uniting he has actively divided the country.  Under his watch the divide between rich and poor has grown.   Millions have been added to the food stamp rolls and the government continues with its reckless spending.

While the President touts himself as a defender of the Middle Class, he hangs with his “rich and famous” friends.  While the President and the First Lady continue to take lavish vacations, Americans are still suffering.

The President should stop his class warfare rhetoric, start to lead and really effect the change he promised.   The old adage “It’s the Economy Stupid” still applies.   Mr. President ask your fellow Americans “How Hope and Change” is working for them.
