If the GOP doesn’t act, Obama can’t Guarantee Americans will get their Social Security, Veterans Benefits, or Disability Checks

Total Fear mongering and casting anxiety throughout the land. Oh how our President has brought Hope and change, doncha think? Here is the funny thing, Obama is so out of touch, he doesn’t know that Benefit checks go out or are deposited on the first of the month 8/1 so folks really don’t need to worry about those mean spirited Republicans until 9/1

President Barack Obama warned Tuesday that Social Security and other payments to the public may be interrupted if the nation’s debt ceiling is not raised by Aug. 2.

“I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on Aug. 3 if we haven’t resolved this issue because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it,” he told “CBS Evening News.”

The Treasury Department forecasts that it will no longer be able to extend its borrowing authority and that the United States will default on its debt on Aug. 2 if lawmakers do not act to raise the ceiling. Social Security checks won’t be the only payments in jeopardy if that happens, Obama said. Disability and veterans payments would also be affected.

The show posted the interview clip on its website, and the full interview will air on television Tuesday evening.

Why can’t the fail safe system of the International Monetary system be reset?
This could overt a financial meltdown if we just go back a day before a desaster with the worlds financial computing system.  If all transactions can take place as usual, it could buy us time to raise money to fix the problems that really exist.  The alternative of inaction could result in a world wide recession, and a problem that would make the civil war look like a picnic.   We can not afford for people not to get the money that is needed to run our lives.
