Jon Huntsman to Announce Presidential Bid at Statue of Liberty

Jon M. Huntsman Jr., the former governor of Utah, will officially declare his intentions to unseat his former boss from the White House next Tuesday in the shadow of the Statue of Liberty, where Ronald Reagan began his presidential campaign in 1980.

Mr. Huntsman made the announcement of his announcement official on Tuesday afternoon at the Thomson Reuters building in Times Square, where he was discussing China with Henry Kissinger and Sir Harold Evans, the newly named editor at large for Reuters.

“I intend to announce that I will be a candidate for the presidency a week from today,”
