Chris Lafferty will drive “We the People’s” truck #89 NCWTS

(Phoenix, AZ)TheTeaParty.net has announced it will be teaming up with Lafferty Motorsports, LLC to sponsor Chris Lafferty in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

The truck, which has already been dubbed “We The People’s” truck, will participate in races across the country during the upcoming two seasons. “The # 89 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and the Tea Party is a natural fit,” said Dustin Stockton media director for TheTeaParty.net. “We will literally drive ‘We The People’ to the front row in racing and government.”

Stockton dismissed criticism about a political organization sponsoring a NASCAR team. “We don’t see ourselves as a partisan organization. Our goal has always been to recruit and educate people to the benefits of limited government, fiscal restraint, and personal responsibility; that has nothing to do with traditional partisan politics.”

TeaPartyRacing.com is a mission-driven organization. The mission components are designed around:

 Representing the people (through sponsorship opportunities),

 Sharing in racing achievements.

 Restoring the importance of understanding the Constitution for America’s future.

The diversity of the TheTeaParty.net, Tea Partiers’ and Race Fans will enable the team to excel both on the racetrack as well as participate in a wide variety of activities and rallies that extend outside of the racetrack.

TheTeaParty.net is seeking separate contributions to help fund the team and has launched the website http://teapartyracing.com/ where supporters can offer their support in increments as small as $5.

The team will kick off the sponsorship over the 4th Of July Holiday at Kentucky Motor Speedway Race on July 7th.

So what is the media saying?

Coming soon to a racetrack near you: a NASCAR racing truck sponsored by the Tea Party.

TheTeaParty.net, which serves as a Web clearinghouse for about 200 small-government groups, is joining forces with NASCAR driver Chris Lafferty on a “We the People” truck.

Vicki Dooling, the media relations coordinator for TheTeaParty.net, said her group signed on with Lafferty’s team in NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series as a way to reach out to a younger crowd and debunk any misperceptions about Tea Party supporters.

“We feel this is going to be a fabulous partnership,” she told USA TODAY.

The truck’s manufacturer, color and design will be decided by people who vote by text, according to Bill Wallace, coach and general manager for the Lafferty Motorsports team. A copy of the Constitution will be emblazoned on the truck’s hood and all the names of people who text in about the truck’s design will have their names on the vehicle, he said.

The truck will debut July 7 in Kentucky and then travel the circuit. Dooling said Tea Party supporters will be on hand to spread the word about upcoming rallies and events for the small-government movement.

Driver Chris Lafferty is teaming up with TheTeaParty.net as a sponsor of the #89 truck in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, which kicks off July 4.

His red Chevy truck will be renamed the “We the People” truck for the next two seasons, carrying the tea party message for two seasons and through the November 2012 election.

Unlike traditional sponsors, the tea party won’t be paying for the privilege. Instead, half the proceeds raised from other sponsors and donations will go to fund TheTeaParty.net, according to a statement by Todd Cefaretti, Freedom Organizer for TheTeaParty.net released to the Hill newspaper.

While the Republican Party still doesn’t have any front runners in the 2012 presidential race, the Tea Party will soon be looking to take the lead in a different type of race. Chris Lafferty, a driver in the Camping World Truck Series, will soon be taking the lanes in the official “‘We the People’s’ truck.” Just one election after the Tea Party proved they were a legitimate force in the political world, ready to take on the big boys, they have now proven to be a legitimate force in the branding world, ready to take on Monster Energy Drink, Longhorn Steakhouse, and GunBroker.com.
