Aiona, Finnegan To Face Abercrombie, Schatz

HONOLULU — Former U.S. Rep. Neil Abercrombie defeated former Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann in the Democratic gubernatorial primary on Saturday night.Abercrombie was defeating Hannemann, 60 to 38 percent.”In 2008, a great wave came from Hawaii and went all across the united states and swept across America with the election of Barack Obama, and now in 2010 a new wave of change and hope is coming to Hawaii and it starts now,” Abercrombie said.”I love being in public service, and all this means is that the people of Hawaii have spoken in saying that ‘Mufi this is not your time,’ and I abide by that decision,” Hannemann said.
